Arriving at the hotel only to discover that the beach is essentially a large construction site — without any prior notice — is extremely unprofessional. As I later learned, several sections of Lido Beach are closed from January through April 2026 for shoreline reconstruction following recent hurricane damage. However, this information was not communicated to us in advance.
Access to the beach was a major factor in our decision to book a beachfront resort, especially during winter break with our family. We would have expected either Expedia or the hotel to clearly disclose any significant construction affecting the beach before our arrival.
To make matters worse, bulldozers were operating throughout the night, making it impossible for us to rest properly and completely disrupting what was meant to be a peaceful and relaxing stay.
At a minimum, there should be full transparency regarding major construction when the property is advertised online. The lack of disclosure has significantly impacted our vacation experience.
The front office supervisor, Kara, was kind enough to waive the resort fees and provide complimentary breakfast passes, which we appreciated. Nevertheless, overall, this has been a very disappointing experience.
