I give this hotel very mixed reviews. They would not allow me to check in early without paying a $25 additional fee although the hotel was completely empty and there were plenty of rooms clean and ready. This was not disclosed in advance, although I did contact the hotel online about early check-in and got no response. Second, when I made the reservation it indicated that breakfast is included. This hotel does not have breakfast available or included, but they did offer to sell me a box of cereal from their little market store. Third, the pool is closed for renovations. Fourth, the hotel has apparently changed hands from Holiday Inn to IHG. There was no announcement of this change of ownership as part of the reservation process.
On the positive side, the room was large and clean with a coffee maker and microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom was large with a good size shower. The service in the bar/restaurant was very good and the food was tasty and served quickly.
The “nickel and dime” approach to early check-in left me with an overall bad impression and I will probably not be returning to this hotel. Tired travelers don’t appreciate being extorted for an extra $25 plus $100 credit card hold for incidentals upon check-in. This really tainted my experience.
