"Great cabin!! Beautiful area grew up going here! Sad to see the devastation of the fires! Electricity went out on last night stay made the best of it!! Cabin very well stocked patio was the best had a family barbecue and made memories! Happy Memorial Day remembering those who have served! "

This is so true, the cabin is very well equipped with everything you need, especially the kitchen. I am a bit of a perfectionist and this cabin met all my expectations plus some. The host is very accommodating. If you want to take a trip to Ponderosa, book this cabin for a great stay."

"Very nice area, somehow missed the town at the bottom of the hill. Cheryl’s restaurant has a great breakfast. Little shops and such are going on in town. Loved the Kern River running behind the lodge. I am sure I saw gold glittering in the rocks, but forgot my pan! Ha, Great little lodge and area! We were passing through a lot of beautiful scenery. "

"When you stay, and they send you the door lock code and tell you to use google maps, and download the offline map. DO IT! The signal out there is definitely no bueno, so when you arrive, if you have no signal you will now be able to get in lol I love that they told us ahead of time, and that they have WIFI available too.We had so much fun at this stay! My family took full advantage of the air hockey table, board games, and dvds! We appreciated that they had portable heaters for each room, and snow sleds too! Although we stayed in April it was still pretty cold outside so there was little patches of snow here and there in the neighborhood! We took the sleds out to play in all the little patches of snow, and even BBQed on the front porch. The microwave was a little too fancy for my family lol, but we did use their cookware to make our breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They had some basic seasonings like salt, pepper, and cinnamon that we used. The beds were so comfy, and they have so many rooms available too! My dogs had a blast hiking and frolicking in the forest. It’s so cool that they allow dogs to stay as well! 10/10 would 100% stay again!"
