Loved this place!

We had a lovely time. The staff were extremely polite and ready to attend to any need. We checked in and out with no problems. The decor is beautiful, room was very clean, and the valet service was great.

Absolutely Charming!

Pros: Style, comfort, cleanliness, and location.
Cons: Slightly larger rooms - but still more than adequate for a solo traveler.
Location: I walked all over the city from here. Easy stroll to the new DC City Center, Chinatown, and DuPont Circle. Not far from the National Mall, either.
I would recommend staying here to anyone. The room was small (ish), so maybe not good for families, but overall, it was a great experience. Perfect for business travelers, singles, or a couples retreat. Stylish, friendly, and comfortable with a great central location. I walked all over the city from here, although the metro was easily accessible from here as well. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful - the housekeeping staff was top notch. Book with confidence and enjoy!

Lovely Hotel

Pros: Great service.
Location: Ideal location near downtown DC.
This hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to The Metro, Sightseeing Tour Buses, and restaurants. I only have 3 complaints, The restaurant and the bar are outrageously expensive but you have other lower priced options with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. My other complaint is the very small and tiny workout facility with only three machines. This hotel also doesn't have a swimming pool.

Great staff. Rooms were clean and cozy. Very small but you could tell they had been recently remodeled. Walking distance to the Whit Hoise and Washington Monument. Loved it!

The hotel seems to have some kinks to work out

Pros: Very nice, recently remodeled. Very cute.
Cons: Need to have coffee, heat, and hot water, as well as much more responsive staff.
Location: It's DC. Nice location close enough to everything!
The hotel facilities were really nice. However, there were some issues with my stay, and there is one glaring problem that must be remedied. The glaring problem is that there is nowhere to get coffee in the morning unless you want to/have time to sit and have breakfast in their dining room. There is no in-room coffee, which is HIGHLY unusual these days, and worse, no coffee in the lobby available to take back to the room either. I had to plead with the dining staff while standing there in my workout clothes to give me a cup I could take to my room, and they did. However, while I was later eating breakfast in the dining room, I saw them turn someone away. There is also no coffee available anywhere nearby. Sorry, but the availability of coffee in the morning is not an option. That is absolutely mandatory. The issues I had were with my heat and hot water. Neither were working properly, and as a result, I was cold while sleeping and awoke several times in the night. Then, when I started the shower, the water was lukewarm, but instead of warming up, it turned ice cold. Yikes! Not a pleasant way to start the day. When I mentioned it to the hotel clerk, she said, "Yeah, I already have someone working on that." But her next sentence was, "how would you like to pay for your breakfast." Sorry, but heat and hot water are ALSO not optional. Those also are mandatory. The response should have been MUCH more apologetic.

Elegant and historic

Probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in - at least in the last 20 years. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel so I can't comment on the rooms in the older section but I would guess that they are nice, too, based on the overall impression of the hotel. The valet parking is probably the only surprise during my stay at $44/day (including tax) but in downtown Washington, DC there really isn't any other option. My only complaint about the parking charge is that I did not know about it ahead of time.

Great start to a great vacation

Although the hotel had just open due to renovations, the staff was very helpful and open to showing us around the hotel. Food was good but not a big choices on the menu- priced right though. Historic building kept it character with the new and old well defined. Would definitely come here again.

Charming hotel in great location

We really enjoyed our stay at the Morrison Clark Hotel. Our room was very charming & comfortable. The staff was great & the location is ideal, within walking distance to the main attractions. I was concerned about construction noise after reading the reviews but never heard any.

Wonderful historic inn

The only place I'll stay in D.C. from now on. Our lovely room was furnished with antiques; staff could not have been nicer. Having stayed in a number of D.C. hotels in the general area of the Morrison-Clark, the latter offered a good value and a break from the indistinguishable look of chains.
