An entertainment district known for its nightlife and music-scene heritage, the Soho section of London's West End is a prime destination for visitors. Hotels in Soho London put you amid movie theaters, night clubs, and lively coffee shops, and close to such iconic locations as Leicester Square, Oxford Street, and Regent Street. A storied former stomping ground of beatniks and rock stars, this is one fashionable and fascinating corner of the U.K.

Visiting Soho, London

Soho is approximately 10 miles from London City Airport, and you can complete the journey via taxi, rental car, or public transportation. You'll find the desks of car rental companies next to the terminal building, and licensed taxi cabs are available right outside. Additionally, chauffeur services can be arranged in advance through a company partnered with the airport. If you prefer to take advantage of London's extensive public transportation network, you can get from the airport to hotels near Soho London by combining Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train services with local buses, or just using buses. Soho rental cars offer an easy way to get around on your own schedule. However, you should know that Soho is within London's Congestion Charge zone, meaning you must pay a daily fee to drive there during the daytime Monday through Friday. Furthermore, some streets in Soho are closed to vehicles on weekends. Once you reach Soho, get ready to explore the neighborhood. See the restaurants, bakeries, and souvenir stores of Chinatown, which is centered along Gerrard Street, and the trendy boutiques of Carnaby Street. With the Soho Theatre presenting new plays and comedy shows, the numerous movie theaters around Leicester Square, and a thriving night club scene, Soho offers some of the best hotels in London for enjoying the city's entertainment offerings.

"It is very close to Big Ben and it was a good size room for European standards! Close to the tube station as well and lots of places to eat nearby."

"The outside of the hotel is deceptive; it definitely looks like it needs a bit of TLC, but the inside is warm, welcoming, and modern-looking. We had an issue upon arrival: we booked a room with a city view, a double bed, and an accessible room (we made it clear we did not require a roll-in shower). The room we were shown into had two single beds, a view of the car park, and a roll-in shower, but it was so small that it was impossible to turn the wheelchair around; although the shower was roll-in, it was impossible to get my standard-sized wheelchair into the bathroom. Once we brought this to the staff's attention, the manager intervened and moved us to a much larger room on the top floor, with a double bed and a spectacular city view. In spite of the initial mixup themanager could not have been more helpful. The rest of our stay was very pleasant and uneventful."
