When we checked in, no staff were at the front desk. I had to use a tablet to register myself and even had to reach over the counter to grab a blank plastic room key to scan for myself. It was very odd. The hotels stark decor with red and black looked very unappealing. The room itself looked run down and had things that looked worn out or scuffed in the bathroom. The breakfast area was tiny and uncomfortable, with only a few tables. The food was good but there were very few items to choose from.

This hotel was in a great location and it was a nice place to stay in Santa Fe. The room was comfortable, quiet, good wifi, good breakfast, and helpful staff.

Saw a lump in the bottom left corner of the bed. Assumed it was just the comforter because of the continuous washing. Went to investigate and low and behold, it was a sock in the bed. Let the front desk know and was given new sheets. Why am I cleaning a room that should’ve been cleaned already. The next day I get a call and they’re asking me if I’m checking out today because they went in and saw our stuff still in the room. Mind you, I have this room for 4 days. Started stressing me out because I was an hour away from the hotel and I’m thinking we’re about to lose all of our belongings. I got charged $700+ when I checked in and when I checked out, they tried to charge me $300+ more. Where they do that at?? Asked for a call from the general manager and even threatened to bring the police up there because I felt like they were scamming me. Never got a call back from the manager til this day. Bathroom reeked of sewage odor and no extra tissue. We ran out on the first person to use the bathroom. There was no view of the mountains whatsoever. I’ve never had such bad service and as many problems in my life with a hotel EVVVVEEEERRRR!! Their communication with each other and myself was piss poor. Manager only handled business M-F because she’s off on the weekends. According to staff.

Coyote South has potential. The personnel at the lobby was knowledgeable and helpful. However, the rooms are in dire need of a complete remodel. Furniture is worn and carpet stunk. I also had the unfortunate experience of having a smoker as a neighbor. I do appreciate that the breakfast was prepared fresh everyday. However, I don’t want to eat burritos everyday. To improve the hotel, stop taking pets and charge smokers a steep fine and pls have a variety for breakfast.

Bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The noise from the busy road outside was terrible. There was no room in the bathroom to put anything. I literally had to try to hang my clothes for after my shower on the knob outside the door because there was nowhere to put them

Location looked great, but upon arrivel our door was found open when entering room! The lights in room flicker allot randomly. Bath room did not feel clean. Requested another room and front didn't seem concerned with the issue of the door being cracked open upon arrivel and ask if we could work with the lights a bit. The issue of the open door didn't feel safe by itself. Checked in at the Best Western down the street not to long after.

Some might say this facility was pretty hip! The check in process was digital but you could have assistance if needed. Some of the fixtures in the room were a little dated but otherwise it had nice updates and was clean. The breakfast burritos were awesome and a refreshing change from boring hotel breakfasts. And this place is perfectly located near everything!

Hidden gem

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel in a Long time. You can watch the clock make the burritos. The beds were very comfortable with a nice selection of pillows. Made it a priority to stay on the way back through the area. I would definitely recommend and have recommended this hotel to friends.

We appreciated the free shuttle service to the Plaza (although of course gave a tip). Free breakfast with breakfast burritos, which were good, but was the same thing every morning. Would be good if they had more options.
