This property from moment of check in were harassing us for our entire stay. we ended up getting property stolen from our room. Rude staff not accommodating at all. they where also trying to charge us for a visitor to come up to visit our room. you have to get a check out pass to leave the hotel not just leave the keys in the room like a regular hotel

This property is in a great location for walking and bussing to all the great shops and restaurants in the area. They have been updating for years and might be a little behind the curve on it. There seems there would be some easy conveniences to make: more water stations or water in the rooms everyday, coffee in the rooms or at least complimentary coffee for non-inclusive guests, modern room keys (that don’t also control the lights), updated safes (that work.-ours had to be open twice during our stay), newer beds/pillows, room phone that worked to dial out, fitness room needs updating, showers were missing big pieces of grout and moldy, the check-in agreement paperwork should be in print large enough to read without a magnifying glass Some of the things I enjoyed: staff was amazing! Ramon at the bar was great! The beach was really nice! Morning beach yoga/stretching, aqua-fitness, volleyball, and soccer was well organized, and pool was very nice. We didn’t eat food there, so I can’t comment on it. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel that will take you just about anywhere.

All you got was a room and a bed. No coffee maker, blow dryer, or remote for the room. No one explained the credits needed to use bar or restaurant. Staff embarrassed us and we're less than friendly. Wouldn't go back whish is a shame the property was nice

Lower Expectations Win the Day

This is not a modern, premium hotel. It might have been once, perhaps in 1960. But, they do the best with old facilities. I was lucky. My inexpensive rate got me a third-floor balcony facing the beach. My spacious room featured good-working a/c and a great refrigerator. The shower and faucet water got hot immediately. Other than that, the features were well-worn. A large picture fell off the wall with a bang. Twice. The desk staff never told me where the unit was (I was directed to a bellman who didn't speak English), nor the secret method of turning on the lights in the room (the room key fits into a hidden slot in the top of a plastic box mounted on the wall). The TV was plagued by constant video interference, the toilet cover fell off, the towels were abrasive enough to remove my leg hair, the buffet was adequate, but lacked the quality and variety of, say, an average cruise ship. If you want a beach lounge, you must claim it around 4:00 a.m. Knowledge of Spanish is rewarded. Although there are four different pools near the beach, but only one has comfortably warm water, and it is always full of raucous guests and the surrounding lounges are full. The surf at the wide, clean beach is mild and the water cool, but nice for February. The beach bar is handy and accommodating (Ezequiel, the barman, is splendid). Karaoke nights were outstanding at the lobby bar. The drinks are strong and never-ending with all-inclusive. The prices are cheap by any resort standards. I'd go back

Very enjoyable stay - we'll be back

Pros: The staff are very helpful and the views of the sunset on the bay are fantastic.
Location: The Marina and Downtown are both a short cab or bus ride away with lots to do. The beach has jet skis and parasailing and about anything else you want
We stayed at the Krystal Vallarta in March 2015 and had a great time. The staff are all very nice and willing to help if you need anything or have a question. We had a room with an ocean view and it was very clean and the maid did a great job every day. We ordered breakfast and lunches off the menu and had very good food. We didn't eat any dinner meals at the resort choosing to go downtown to eat. The beach in front of the resort is very nice and was clean. There are some areas of the resort that are getting older and in need of maintenance and was told these are being addressed. We will definitely be going back!
