We liked the size of Canto, and the very real efforts to make us feel at home there. Serious dislike is their keeping their pool bar open till midnight, simply extending the loud drunkenness of a dozen revelers. We'd like our door open to hear the ocean, but only hear the partiers. Shut it down at 10, send the partiers downtown or to another hotel.

I always enjoyed it many times. But because of Covid they are accepting bus tours to make up for lost revenues. It is understandable and I got a good deal to go there. However there just wasn't any peace and everything there was a rush and a fight with big families who are desperate to enjoy their two days at the facility. I recommend people spend more money for a more exclusive vacation. I love to see the children and families normally but this was overwhelming.

Book your covid test, available in room service, early or they may be booked. It was $31 per person and hotel gives you printout of results accepted at airport.

We have visited Canto for 7 years, and this visit was very different. Very crowded with locals, brought in by low special rates. Food was meh, where it usually is a highlight. Louder and more jangly, even the small beach area was overrun. We'd set up a spot and just get crowded out by multi families.

The two bedroom studio is completely run down. Not enough light in the rooms. We were never able to connect to the WiFi. Their advertising pictures are nothing compare to the actual amenities. Food was horrible and limited options. You need to make advance reservations to the other three restaurants, which are all booked by the time you try to reserve. The building was under repairs and construction began at 6am creating noise and disturbance. Save your money do not stay here.

The resort was very clean. All employees were friendly and helpful. Excellent food and service at all of the restaurants. Rooms are a bit outdated. Do not stay at this resort for the beach. Much better beaches nearby.
