I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Right off the bat I called 2 weeks in advance & asked for an early check-in, I was told yes. When we went to check we were told to we could not & to come back around 6/6:30. When we finally got to our room: The bathroom smelled heavily of chlorine & bleach while the room smelled just rancid to the point I woke up every morning with a sore throat, runny nose & coughing, I'm pretty sure the air conditioner probably has mold in it. The blankets on the beds & the curtains had cigarette burns in them the pillows were filthy Somehow the carpeted floor was sticky, with multiple bugs skittering around. The internet was spotty at best. The television got maybe 3 channels & even those didn't work. We tried to call the front desk from the phone in our room, but there was no dial tone, tried with my cell, but was hung up on. We left before anyone got to the front desk & got back after the staff left. As we were packing up my traveling partner discovered a bug in his bed that looked suspiciously like a bedbug. When checking out I notified the front desk & showed them the picture I had taken. One of the other employees told me it wasn't a bedbug, but a cockroach, LIKE THAT IS BETTER. I requested a refund & was offered a night refunded because we didn't tell them, except WE TRIED, BUT THE PHONE ON OUR ROOM DIDN'T WORK & THEY DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE. DON'T STAY HERE!! They should be removed from Travelocity & shut down by the health department!

This red carpet inn , on whippany is extremely dirty terrible service unsafe people sleeping in there cars bums handing in main entrance door lobby was dirt room had no light bulb and no curtains at all

The smoke alarm battery was dying so the alarm is beeping all night. There is no tv, no in room refrigerator or microwave, the bathtub is dirty, the light in the bathroom is broke, there is no free WiFi….definitely not worth the money to stay. The photos on Expedia were no where close to what the room actually looks like. I’m glad I only was staying for one night. Would not recommend at all. Very disappointed

BED BUGS BEDBUGS BED BUGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!We literally stayed for less than 15 minutes. The minute I checked the bed I saw blood on the sheets and called the manager to state that there were red stains on the sheets and comforter. Once I started looking at the bed and around the corners I discovered so many bright red bed bugs soooooo many. We asked for another room there were none and then the manager offered a discount. I assured him I could not sleep there and would not sleep there and needed a refund to book elsewhere. The manager was compliant and did not argue the refund. He appeared as if he knew they had a bed bug problem and was looking at me baffled that I complain. Please don’t stay here until the condition improve

The manager of the property was incredibly rude and a huge liar. My husband and I kept having to go back to the front desk and ask for a new key card because it wasnt working. We had to do this 3x. Then the smoke alarm in our room wouldn't stop beeping. The manager said he'd put in a work order but had no idea when help would arrive. The bathroom was SO dirty. The tub had rust all over the bottom. It was so gross you didn't even want to shower in there. Then the tv stopped working. I went to the front desk after this because enough was enough. The manager gave me such attitude and blamed it all on me. He said he always tells people to come down and check with him to make sure everything is ok within 10 minutes of getting to the room. He never said that to us. Not once. And we kept returning to the front desk with problem after problem. We tried to get thru it without the tv or shower but even the pillows had mold on them. The blankets had burnt holes in them. We couldn't stay the night there. I'm very disappointed with our stay here at red carpet inn in Whippany

I checked out before I put my bags down. This place is absolutely dusgusting! Beds smelled like a sweaty man, COCKROACHES, fridge not working, AC not working, and the bed frames had poles/sticks/beams portruding out, which is a major trip and health hazard. The shiwerhead was broken and was wrapped with shipping tape. The rug was BLACK, that's how filthy it was. Room 214. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and the NJ Health Department. This place should be shut down for health code violations. COCKROACHES!!!

Five star service. Zero star everything else

All you have to do is take some pride ....It was pretty bad. It was very reasonable on the pocketbook. Traveling for work. Did not expect it to be basically a section 8 housing unit. Just absolutely delapadated. The smell was terrible. Really I would actually sleep there in an emergency if I had a small children and it was very cold out at least I can cover them with a mattress otherwise I will sleep in my van or next to a river with Leaches is biting me And sucking my blood it was just terrible the worst part is is that nobody took any pride even if it's running down even if it's old somebody just give some pride

The rooms are very old, smelly and dirty. The staff at the front desk is rude. The area appears unsafe. The carpet on the floor was dirty and had stains (probably vomit). A dog kept barking the whole night.
