Room 1005 was a closet broken bed was the worst

Room 1005 was a closet broken bed I've stayed there before and was fine this time was terrible don't let them give you 1005 room should be free if that's all they have

Oakland Marriott

Pros: Location.
Cons: Restaurant didn't have anything on their menu as advertised - "we're out of that" three days in a row... mediocre quality what was available.

All my encounters with Marriott employees was great - they were happy, helpful and professional.

Good hotel in a convenient location.

Pros: Great downtown Oakland location, nice rooms.
Location: Many restaurants and bars within a short walk, close to BART station.
Nice hotel with helpful staff. Rooms are an adequate size. Best thing about the hotel is the convenient location within easy walking distance of many downtown Oakland restaurants and bars. A one minute walk to the BART station, and can be in downtown San Francisco in 15-20 minutes.

Tub and tile need an update and peeling paint on room doors in hall. Everything else was terrific, very comfortable and restful.

Hidden costs

The review above gives info. Our major concern was the parking cost-- $40 to 45 per night that wasn't explained by Marriott or Travelocity and was in light gray on the THIRD page of the form we recd in the computer.
