Do not stay here..you don't get your money's worth

Location: Waikiki beach is a 10min stroll and you're walking through a huge shopping area with restaurants so it doesn't seem like a long walk.
Checking in and out took forever for some reason. The halls reek heavily of cigarette smoke and it gave me a headache almost immediately. The room wasn't as bad, but it just smells like an old place. The beds are hard; it's a 2 star hotel in my opinion and I wouldn't stay there if you want a good nights sleep. You can rent movies&video games, which was a nice amenity, but you have to go off site to catch the transportation. It's a close walk to the beach however (10mins). So there's pros and cons, but I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Close to Waikiki.

Pros: Location and the lanai.
Cons: Carpet in our room was in need of being replaced.
Location: Easy walking distance to Waikiki but you will definitely want a rental car to explore the island. Parking rates are "average" I imagine.
We were upgraded to a suite on the 44th floor of this hotel, i.e. Penthouse. It was obviously updated in places, others not so much. The carpet was certainly dingy, you will want slippers or shoes on. The kitchen was nice but was I not in a hotel? No dishwasher detergent, paper towels etc. The bedroom area was nice, bath nice, lanai spectacular! That being said we were situated on the east side with sunrise views, and views of Waikiki and Diamond Head ... not sure we would have had the same reaction on a different side or lower floor. Easy access though to Waikiki, walking distance. It's beautiful. Parking fees are a bit hefty in addition to hotel charges. Additionally our air conditioning worked great in the bedroom but the rest of the room remained a bit uncomfortable.

Great place to stay

Friend and I (we both now live in Seattle but were born/raised on the Islands) decided to rent a hotel at the last-minute for the 4th of July weekend. This condo/hotel was a great place as our base while we went to the beach & watched fireworks at Ala Moana Shopping Center. Pleasantly surprised with the room and its décor -- very boutique-ish. The only drawback was that our room was right outside the trash chute. While none of the smell got into our room, it was a bit challenging to leave and get back in. We were only there for 2 days plus we spent most of our time outside of the hotel so no biggie for us but might not be for others.

This was a horrendous hotel.

Pros: none!
Cons: bed bugs, filthy, parking cost $25 per day
This hotel was awful. The first room we went to had 1 double bed and a cot - we paid for 2 double beds. Then we were moved to a room with 2 double beds. My friend and I both got bitten up all over by bed bugs. When we lifted the mattress they were very visible. Why hadn't the staff seen these when they were supposed to clean the room? The bathroom was never cleaned. When we complained about the bed bugs and showed them our bites and an actual bug they moved us once again. They said the room was an upgrade but there were knobs missing from the cabinets, the shower curtain was the wrong size meaning we had to soak up the water with the towels. After having saved a year for this trip it was extremely disappointing.

Excellent Customer Service. Especially the Front Desk at all hours of the day!

Cons: street nosie of people shut in the street
The room on 24th floor very spacious and excellent flow of the trade winds!! View of the Sun rise on 6th floor, mountains to the right and ocean to the left. View I miss living in Texas. The personnel at the Front Desk made me and my friend feel welcomed no, matter what time of day we entered or left the premises. We felt safe leaving our belongs and valuables in the room. Balcony excellent viewing both day and night. The Security Guard surperb making their presence known on the floors, as well and did not just sit at the downstairs station. Only concern was parking, to costly. Contract should be made to reduce hotel patriants use of parking. Also, if they are going to advertise one price plan it should be consistant and not changed from attendant to attendant.

They are in the middle of a remodel in parts of the hotel.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy, Poor breakfast
I'm hoping the remodel includes freshening up the rooms. Our room was clean but run down. Carpet on the floor was more comfortable than the hard bed. No free internet. It was great having a little convenience store on the 6th floor!

This hotel was welcoming, but quite dated.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
We were on the33rd. Beautiful view of diamond head and pieces of the ocean. Nice big balcony, where could see whales out in the ocean.

Would Stay Again

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. I was travelling alone, and didn't plan to spend much time in the room. The pool was closed for renovation, and they had mentioned that there would be construction noise during the day, which was OK with me since I was out and about. At night the neighborhood was quiet, and from the 26th floor I could see most of Waikiki lit up below. Situated along the canal, I felt more like a resident and less like a tourist. I could easily walk anywhere in Waikiki, and the bus stopped two blocks away if I wanted to catch a ride out to Pearl Harbor or Honolulu. My room was simple but afforded everything I needed including a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. I loved having my morning coffee or evening glass of wine on the balcony.
