Nestled among the majestic aspens of the Grand Mesa and just a 1/2 mile from Powderhorn Mountain Resort, A Bar U Homestead is the perfect home base for year-round outdoor adventure! Come to A Bar U to recreate, relax, and rejuvenate on our 9-acre property complete with a private pond and the homestead's original log cabin! Whether you are looking to road bike on one of Colorado's Scenic Bypasses, mountain bike the Palisade Plunge, nordic ski at Skyway / County Line trail system, downhill ski / snowboard at Powderhorn Resort, hike, fish, or hunt, A Bar U Homestead is the perfect location for your next outdoor adventure and family getaway!!

A Bar U is a newly renovated cabin with a spacious common room complete with a breakfast nook and a 360-degree wood fireplace. A Bar U has two upper-level decks: one with a six-person dining set and the other with an outdoor lounge set. No matter the season, the decks provide serene mountain views and are perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets, seeing wildlife play in and around the pond, stargazing and communing with your friends and family.

A Bar U has a master bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a large bunk room and bathroom on the lower level. With one queen bed and two full-sized bunk beds, the bunk room comfortably sleeps 4 people. The lower level also has a common space with a sitting area around a wood burning stove, storage for personal gear, and a writer's desk. The lower-level porch has a picnic area for additional outdoor dining during the warmer months.

INDOOR LIVING: Smart TV w/ cable, open floor plan, fireplace, dining table, island / bar seating, convertible couch, modern finishes, ample food and gear storage, and wood-burning stove.

OUTDOOR LIVING: Large East-facing deck with dining set, grill, lounge chairs and side table, West-facing deck with lounge set, large firepit with chairs, spacious yard for lawn games, picnic table, and outdoor counter space.

KITCHEN: Fully equipped, dishwasher, drip coffee maker and grinder, cooking basics, spice rack, knife set, blender, eat-in breakfast nook, crock-pot, stockpot, coffee and wine bar.

GENERAL: Small washer & dryer, towels / linens, radiant heating, highchair.

**WATER: The homestead property is in a remote area where water conservation is very important as we are not connected to city utilities. Our backcountry water/plumbing system originates from a natural spring or is delivered depending on the water table and/or season.

PARKING: Driveway (4-5 vehicles) facing East Golden Dr.

Super place and crazy convenient

We had a great quick stay for racing at Powderhorn. The cabin is perfect for a weekend (or longer) stay for those wanting convenient access to the mountain. Comfortable and easy. Management was great, kitchen well stocked. Would definitely stay again and hope to for the next trip.

A Perfect Family Getaway at a Hidden Gem

Our stay at this Vrbo was spectacular! The picturesque, serene location was perfect for our family gathering. Amenities: The house had everything we needed. The kitchen, large dining table, cozy living room, and beautiful wood burning fireplace made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We loved the decks as well. Location: Ideally situated, the property offered the tranquility we were hoping, “off the beaten path”. We enjoyed nearby hiking trails and the charming “Bloom” local market. Comfort: Every room was designed for comfort, with cozy beds, functional bathrooms, and thoughtful touches like shampoo, conditioner & bath wash. Thoughtful Additions: The hosts had a fully stoked game cabinet, grill utensils for the provided grill, tea and coffee. When asked, the provided some great recommendations for local attractions and dining (which we didn’t end up exploring because it was far too cozy, comfortable and lovely to stay there!). In summary, this Vrbo was perfect for our family weekend getaway. Fantastic amenities, a prime location, and thoughtful additions made our stay memorable. Highly recommended for a wonderful family retreat!

Our family of four enjoyed this property for our holiday ski vacation at Powderhorn. It had everything that we needed. The 360 degree glass fireplace was a fun feature. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed.

Quiet stay in the Grand Mesa National Forest

Perfect getaway for our family. We had a great time here exploring the area. It is quite a ways away from "everything" but after a grocery run to Grand Junction, we were set for the week! If you visit during the summer, be sure to bring bug spray, but that goes for anywhere in the forest.

Tranquil Retreat With Gorgeous Views

Enjoy breathtaking views from every window of this darling house. The center-room fireplace and spiral stairs give it a relaxed 70’s vibe. The upgrades are modest and the simplicity is relaxing. Quiet street that is close to Powderhorn ski mountain. We will definitely stay here again!

colorado trip

It was our first trip to Colorado and everything was even better as described by the owners. The location is amazing, everything is very close to the house and you have areas to walk around and enjoy the crisp pf the morning snow. House gives you the sense of being at home, you do not wanna leave that house. fire place with the wood in the middle of the living room it was our place to spend evenings together and watch some movies.

So easy to book, owner kept in contact to see if our needs where meet. Very clean on check in! Great location directions are very accurate. Internet with no problem. All of out cell phone worked from different carriers.
