Room was clean, although very very strong perfume smell. We had to open the window all night to be able to sleep. Other than that, are one night stay was comfortable, close to the gardens, and close to restaurant.

The room had scuff marks everywhere in the room along the walls. The best part was being woken up to full on jackhammering that shock us out of bed with no prior knowledge or information from the staff. When I asked the front desk about it, they acted like I was crazy. I have videos recording the sound and pictures of the work being done. I immediately reached out to Expedia who started resolving the situation. Otherwise the location was fantastic but wished they cared about their guests.

We had put in for an upgrade which wasn’t available when we checked in. The desk people did give us an amazing room on the top floor overlooking Hyde Park. The room was well maintained and their service staff did a great job with daily service.

Initial room was unacceptable. Old battered furniture & stained carpet. Not as advertised. Elisha very helpful in providing us with a different & updated room. She wanted to make sure we were satisfied. Only complaint about the room was the shower in the tub. Always had a fllood on the floor when finished as plastic panel door not long enough.

The shower over the bath in this property is DANGEROUS! The shower is at the end of the bath which is sonarrow you can hardly stand with your feet together. There is no shower curtain, NO GRAB RAIL & the hinged glass panel allows water to leak all over the floor. A slight slip and you’re GONE!

Not a Thistle experience as i remember it

Hotel clean and quite well situated, rooms clean but quite small for the price and only one chair to sit on, mini fridge a good idea, option to not have your room cleaned / towels changed daily a good idea especially with a £7 bar voucher but didnt realise it meant that they would not replenish the tea / coffee provisions. Bar area clean but service quite slow aspecially as it comes with a service charge. Only 2 very small lifts not adequate for a hotel that size. Breakfast was the main issue for us, buffet style which is fine platescwarm but food also only luke warm so gone cold by the time you had taken it to the table and only 2 very slow coffee machines serving half pot portions at a time, many people needing to do two requests at a time leading to queues and a long wait for coffees. Toaster doesnt toast the bread in one cycle and there is a sign asking people not to use it twice. Limited continental choices too. Was booked as a surprise trip for my wifes 50th birthday and didnt want to go premier inn / travelodge route as it was a treat however both of us felt we would have had a better experience in a premier inn for a more reasonable price

Room was very clean although a bit on the small side. Hotel is in an excellent location and conveniently placed for underground. My only criticism is that one of the three lifts was out of order for our entire stay. All members of staff were very polite and helpful.

If there was an episode of Hotel Hell, Gordon Ramsay take note! The hotel is in a nice area and a great location across from Hyde Park. To begin, the staff and welcoming is anything from friendly at checkin. A smile would be nice. We had two rooms as we were moving my daughter to London for school. The rooms were dirty, the amount of dust on the lamps by the bed showed that they have never met a dust rag. There is rubbish under the furniture and fixtures showing that a vacuum has never touched these areas. Stains on the floor, bathroom walls and bedroom walls were enough to make us feel like we were staying in a petri dish. If you want rest, think again. House keeping is up bright and early slamming door's every 10 to 30 seconds and it echoes down the hall. No need for a wakeup call or an alarm as you can set your watch by them. That added to the hotel deciding to remodel the room across from us was painful. Our air-conditioning broke halfway through the trip. They came up to take a look at it and cleaned the filter and said it was fixed, it wasn't. They said they could move us, but that separated us from our party and we were sharing our room safe as our other room's safe was broken so everything was in our room. It was not convenient to move rooms as we had a lot of luggage for the move. The "Do Not Disturb" sign is a mere suggestion. We came back one day to a Nespresso machine placed in our room, never asked for it. For the money, stay somewhere else.
