Small, old, well situated

This is an old building, with excellent location close to British Museum, the Piccadilly line underground, and other attractions, reasonable price in relation to the city and season (July). I had a room with private bathroom, the bathroom very small and uncomfortable (it is a better option the shared bathroom, if you do not mind to share). They did not clean the room everyday, and some times bad odors came from toilette. I appreciate that there is always somebody at the reception.

Exceptional Budget Hotel for Travelers

Wonderful stay at this boutique budget hotel for backpackers and travelers of all sorts. We came to London to go to the Opera and the Hiroshige expo at the British Museum and both were in walking distance of the hotel. Euston Station is .5 miles away and the entire area has many shops, restaurants and green spaces to lie on the grass. The hotel has toilets and showers just off the staircase and this is nice so that you don't have to listen to your partner on the toilet in a small room. The toilets were always clean and showers had powerful, hot water. The windows opened so we had fresh air. The staff was friendly and has been run by the same family since 1964. If you're looking for a budget hotel in Bloomsbury, near the British Museum, the Royal Opera House, Soho and Euston, Saint Pancras and King's Cross stations, look no further. This is the place. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Highly recommended.

We arrived early and luggage storage was fast and easy. Staff were friendly and there were showers, toilets, and a lounge for us to use before our room was ready. All areas were clean and the staff were all very helpful and attentive. Great value and fantastic location.

This was exactly what we needed as a family of three. It was located within walking distance of Euston station, had many reasonably priced restaurants nearby, and a Tesco. The beds and washroom facilities were clean and comfortable. We felt safe with someone manning the door 24 hours. The only small downside was the outside noise (the room was on street level and we had to leave the window open for ventilation). The hotel itself was very quiet.

Property is in a very good location, very close to the tube and city center. However, that was the only nice thing about it. It was very hot and no A/C. Very difficult to get to the 4th floor with the suitcases and no elevator available. We had to share the bathroom with other rooms. We asked for a second fan because the room was extremely hot, but the staff said they didnt have a second fan. Then we asked again the next day and the staff found one and provided. Overall, our experience was not good and we would not recommend this hotel. Pay a little more and be comfortable in a nicer hotel. We made the mistake of trying to save money but it was not worth it.

We paid the same amount of money for the 11 days that we stayed here. Yet, they don't change our towels on a daily basis. In addition, the property is 200 year old. This means that it is old and squeaky. Make sure that you have strong arms to bring up and down any luggage over 24Kg because there is NO ELEVATOR. In the Summer, this place is HOT. There is no air conditioning.

We enjoyed our stay at St Athans Hotel! The staff were very nice and the 24/7 reception was great. From a safety perspective, we appreciated that all guests must ring the bell to enter the building. The newly renovated washrooms were nice. The cafe across the street is very cheap and has good breakfast options! There are also lots of other restaurants in the area, including a diner we had a full English breakfast at. The hotel is old but charming! Would recommend if you are looking for a 'no frills' hotel to stay at.

You pay for what you get. The rooms are small, but cozy. I was there for a concert so I didn’t ask too much from the hotel, just a clean place to sleep. Not too far out of the city. Rooms are very clean, bathrooms nearby and quiet. The area felt safe and is closeby to metro and shopping centre. Also with transportation and cabs so nearby, all of London is at your fingertips! Friendly welcome and goodbye!

The property was okay. A little pricey for what the property is about. If you come here, request a room away from windows facing the street. We stayed in a room on ground floor (which we appreciated) but unfortunately it’s noisy. People passing by, there were girls talking loudly around 2 am, and had to tell them to be quiet. Young fellas being loud late at night, construction site, etc.
