"Good location, room size walking and bicycling "
Room size is good, we booked 2 beds for 2 person, air-condition is strong. The hotel is at good location, you can walk to west side point of interest such as 清水寺 Kiyomizu Temple, Higashi 真宗本廟(東本願寺) Honganji (south) and shopping areas ( center and south ). And you can walk to hotel from Kyoto station ( 18 mins ). staffs are friendly, speak some English. We didn't take any buses and trains during our 5 days stay in Kyoto, only walking and biking. There is a friendly convenient store and super market just across the street, well, most Japaneses are friendly.

"Central Location, Friendly, Clean and Affordable"
I stayed here November 2012. I arrived on the train from Tokyo (2 hour train ride). The cab driver couldn't find the hotel because it's just off a main road. I recommend you print a map before you leave to show the cab driver. The location is great for seeing Kyoto by foot. I was able to walk to many great temples and gardens. The room was fairly small but just fine. It included pjs, slippers, loofah (japanese version), 2 bottles of water and all the other regular toiletries. The bathroom had the fancy toilet, large tub with shower combo. No issues with water temperature or pressure. I really wanted to stay in a traditional old fashioned Japanese hotel but a friend who had stayed in one told me that you take a shower using a bucket and after a long day of traveling and sightseeing, I wanted a real American shower. Not to mention the old traditional hotels are very expensive and book in advance. My deal included breakfast and it was yummy. I would stay here again and recommend to my friends.

"A+ Customer service"
I stayed 1 night at the Kyoto Tower Hotel during my 2 day tour of Kyoto. It is an older hotel but the facilities were clean & well kept. Our doubles room was a little small (par for Japanese hotel) & the air conditioning was not as cold as I like for the hot muggy weather in July. My husband & I left to continue our trip to Hiroshima & it wasn't until the next day that I realized that I had left my ring behind. I had a Japanese friend call Kyoto Tower hotel to find the ring & send it back to my hotel in Tokyo, I will pay for shipping. The following day we were back from Hiroshima & the ring was already back at my hotel waiting for me, no shipping charge. Two thumbs up for the Kyoto Tower hotel staff!

"fabulous hotel!"
when we arrived we couldn't believe it was the right place...the front lobby was open to the outside...with a fire in the reception area....the room as smallish as is the case with many in japan so it was expected...the room was very nicely decorated and soooo clean....fabulous...the room even had a balcony. every evening there was a free welcome drink...including cocktails, beer or wine. so each day you stayed you could get the welcome drink in the evening...nice touch and we saved alcohol money that way! great location..just maybe 5 minutes walk to Kyoto station...which is a great place for shopping for souvenirs and for finding places to eat. The hotel restaurant also is good...we only ate there on our last night....they had a 1000 yen lobster or wagyu beef teppanyaki...we hesitiated to order because we figured it would be miniscule for that price...but the amount of beef was excellent and it tasted great...combined with our free welcome drink it was a nice meal to end our trip :)

"Sept 2016"
Shirt and sweet review: Pros- 1. The breakfasts. Our reservations included breakfasts and this made the stay worth the increaed cost over other hotels. Choice of a western buffet breakfast and a set Japanese breakfast. My son and I had both. Breakfast list price was approx 3000 yen. But the western buffet and the set Japanese breakfasts were great. The Japanese breakfast was one of the take home memories from my vacation. 2. Location next to the train station is convenient. 3. My son and I had a deluxe twin room. Very nice size for the room. Two twin beds, desk area, a small couch and sitting chair and coffee table. Cons: 1. Closets were maybe 6 inches deep. Couldn't even contain a hanger sideways. The closet had a couple of pegs in it to put hangers on. I know this might sound petty, but not being able to hang much up in the closet was inconvenient. Overall, it was a nice stay.
