We loved the Onsen that was on the property. It allowed tattoos which is uncommon in Japan. The free drink a night and free tea and coffee lounges were also very nice as these costs can rack up when you are traveling around Japan.

Excellent location a few minutes from Kyoto Station. Small hotel with excellent service. Easy check-in and they will hold your luggage. I wish there was a reading/writing light on desk or near sofa because I rise much earlier than my husband. I hate waking him up by turning on room lights. Inconvenient. Bathtub was very slippery if you shower. No rubber mats at the hotel. Do most people bathe? Still, even getting in and out of the tub takes extra caution. Really think they should add something to lessen the danger of falling. Overall, great smaller hotel in location close to the trains.

fabulous hotel!

Pros: clean location free welcome drink everyday restaurant prices wagyu beef
Location: 5 minutes walk to Kyoto station
when we arrived we couldn't believe it was the right place...the front lobby was open to the outside...with a fire in the reception area....the room as smallish as is the case with many in japan so it was expected...the room was very nicely decorated and soooo clean....fabulous...the room even had a balcony. every evening there was a free welcome drink...including cocktails, beer or wine. so each day you stayed you could get the welcome drink in the evening...nice touch and we saved alcohol money that way! great location..just maybe 5 minutes walk to Kyoto station...which is a great place for shopping for souvenirs and for finding places to eat. The hotel restaurant also is good...we only ate there on our last night....they had a 1000 yen lobster or wagyu beef teppanyaki...we hesitiated to order because we figured it would be miniscule for that price...but the amount of beef was excellent and it tasted great...combined with our free welcome drink it was a nice meal to end our trip :)

Amazing hotel very close to the station.

Pros: The food, free alcoholic drink, spacious room, balcony, English speaking staff.
Cons: The only issue I had with the room was the bathroom shower, whenever I took a shower the water would run off the side and create a pool on the floor.
Location: About 3-5 minute walk to the station where you can take a bus to go see the many tourist attractions around the city.
I've stayed at several hotels in Japan but this one was by far the best. First off I reserved a 6th floor north side double room. The room was large with plenty of space to move around, the bathroom was great and very spacious, and I absolutely loved the balcony. Bed was large, small couch at the front of the bed infront of the television, various connection cell phone charger (very helpful since I had forgotten to bring mine) in the night stand. Mini refrigerator, dehumidifier, great working AC. Just all around an amazing hotel room. The staff was very helpful and most spoke decent English, they even offered a free maps of Kyoto and umbrellas to block the sun. The hotel restaurant was great, the food was perfectly cooked and looked amazing (lobster, steak, fresh tuna sashimi). The free alcoholic drink (I ordered a glass of red wine) with dinner was also a great bonus. I also bought the breakfast buffet when I reserved the room, the selection was great with many fruits, vegetables, yogurt, several kinds of bread, thick cut pieces of bacon, sausage, and many others. All around I had an amazing stay, 5 stars!
