Flight Review

Mar 9, 2020

Those boys in aloha shirts were so friendly and nice! I love to fly Hawaiian airline just because of them!

Feb 18, 2020

I think the rule about one carry-on plus personal item should be better enforced. It would help people get seated quicker.

Jan 18, 2020

flight was on schedule.

Jan 5, 2020

The airplane left on time which was great!

Oct 25, 2018

No US domestic airline can compare with Japan Airlines. Better service from the time you check in till you deplane. Food is great and all seats, even economy are comfortable. Planes are clean including the bathrooms.

Oct 1, 2018

A representative of the airline took our passports and, basically, went through customs for customers with connecting flights. Not having to wait in the customs line was such a stree reliever for me. Nice touch!

Sep 16, 2018

My first trip with Thai; definitely will do again

Jul 14, 2018

I liked the special celebration at the gate for Japan's Lovers' Day.

Jun 26, 2018

Definitely use ANA again

Jun 16, 2018

Wish WiFi was more reliable. It stopped many times during each movie.

Jun 4, 2018

Tasty food and great service

Apr 15, 2018

They were very insistent with purchasing duty free items. It took several times until they left me alone.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Kyoto

Your trip to Kyoto begins as soon as you've finished all the security checks. Here are some hints and tips to ensure you pass through quickly:

  • Be sure you know the whereabouts of your travel ID and boarding pass. You don't want to hold up the queue when you're asked to hand them over.
  • You'll have to pause the tunes for a short while. Earphones and headphones need to be removed and put in a bin for X-raying. The same applies to items such as heavy jackets and belts.
  • Ensure your electronic devices and laptop are within reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine in separate tubs.
  • Traveling with a favorite perfume or cologne? As long as it's no greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's placed in a clear zip-lock bag, you can keep it in your hand luggage.
  • The airport security will likely ask you to remove your shoes for the body scanner. Pick a pair that come off easily. There's nothing worse than having to do your laces up again and again.
  • Pack any multi-tools or other pointy metal items inside your checked luggage. Security personnel don't allow these on the plane.

Flights To Kyoto

Kyoto served as Japan's Imperial capital for over one thousand years, and the bountiful culture and beauty of the city make this instantly apparent. If you're studying your options for flights to Kyoto, you'll want to focus on two airports in nearby Osaka: Osaka-Itami International Airport (ITM), which is closer, but offers mainly domestic flights, and Kansai International Airport (KIX), a larger international transportation hub and the primary point of arrival for most tourists to the region.

Transportation From ITM and KIX

Kyoto flights that land at ITM put tired passengers just a short distance from many comfortable hotels. Regardless of the accommodation included in Travelocity's Kyoto vacation packages, keep your options for airport travel in mind. If you fly into ITM, there are buses that run between the airport and Kyoto. Just buy a ticket at one of the machines outside the arrival hall and head to the appropriate boarding area; the trip takes just under an hour. You can also take the monorail to connect with two rail lines that will take you to Kyoto. If, however, you land at KIX, simply hop on the JR Haruka Airport Express, which will take you to Kyoto in just 75 minutes. Reserve a ticket in advance for a slight discount. As in ITM, there are also buses available here. When you arrive in Kyoto, make a quick stop to drop your bags at the hotel and begin your exploration of Kyoto's vivid cultural heritage. Visit hundreds upon hundreds of Buddhist shrines, or take a scenic hike in the surrounding mountains. The city boasts no less than 14 UNESCO World Heritage sites, so there is plenty to keep you busy throughout your stay!
