Great hotel close to transit in Kyoto! Lots of delicious and affordable places to eat nearby. Less than 1 minute from the nearest convenience store for snacks/drinks. The room was big enough for Japan. The shower was great with hot water and strong pressure. The bed was super comfy. The staff was very nice and accommodating when we lost an item on the train.

No English television channels

No English television channels and there was no way to hook up a computer or ubs stick to the television. This seems to be done by design. Not sure who this approach benefits. Certainly not the paying non-Japanese quests.

Nice hotel, great location

The hotel is located a short walk from a covered shopping arcade, the bus stops right out front to go to Kyoto Station, so great location. There is no food available at the hotel, but with a 7-11 and restaurants nearby, that is not an issue. The rooms are quite small. There is coin op laundry, but unless you are doing a VERY small load, expect several cycles in the dryer.
