Gahanna, Ohio, takes its name from a Native American word meaning "three creeks becoming one," and a stay here will give you three great advantages in one package. First, Gahanna is extremely close to both Ohio's state capital, Columbus, and its airport, making coming and going relatively easy. Second, the town itself is quiet and relaxing. Perhaps best of all, you can get some excellent Gahanna hotel deals, saving you money and making it the ideal base in the Columbus area.
Gahanna is only 4 miles north of Port Columbus International Airport, and so it takes just a few minutes to get there after your plane lands. There's no direct public bus, so it's best to take a taxi from the terminal, or to rent a car and drive there yourself. Many of the hotels in Gahanna are right beside the airport, so you won't have far to go before you get settled in. In town, the Creekside area has recently been redeveloped and is now the hub of the downtown area. It's a great place to walk alongside Big Walnut Creek, or to eat or drink at one of the bars or restaurants there. On the eastern edge of town lies the Gahanna Woods Nature Preserve, a forest park with walking trails and beautiful scenery. The park is within walking distance of downtown, but it's also a good idea to look into Gahanna car rentals for getting around the larger area, and for going into Columbus. The state capital has many attractions, including the Ohio Statehouse, Franklin Park Conservatory and botanical gardens, and Santa Maria, a full scale replica of Christopher Columbus' ship. The city is 9 miles west of Gahanna and easily accessible, but if you're looking to be in the heart of the action, check out hotel deals in Columbus.
