in-flight staff were excellent and very helpful

Mar 14, 2020

Did not pay extra to get assigned seats ahead of time, and although I checked in exactly 24 hours ahead of our flight, my wife and I were not able to be seated next to each other.

Best take off and landing I have ever experienced on a flight. As smooth as it could’ve possibly been. Amazing experience!

I was glad to get home. I purchased a Basic Economy roundtrip ticket and was not allowed to get a boarding pass or assigned seat unless I checked a suitcase. For the return flight from IAH to CMH, I tried to check a suitcase so I could go ahead and print my boarding pass. However, the system would not allow me to pay for the bag (Once in the terminal, the kiosk still didn't let me pay for the checked bag. So, thank you.) The plane had several mechanical problems that kept us sitting at the gate at IAH until all work and paperwork were done (1 1/2 hours). I was in Seat 11C, which was a very uncomfortable seat. There was very cold air coming out of the seam between the ceiling and the wall above the window. The man in the window seat was right under the significant flow of cold air. We both put on our jackets but it was a most uncomfortable flight. Turbulence meant that the drink service was interrupted. By the time we arrived at CMH, the first women's restroom was locked. However, everyone was very nice and I really appreciate the ride home.

Very smooth landing!

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Columbus

These handy tips and hints about airport security checks will save you lots of time on your trip to Columbus:

  • Make sure your passport and boarding pass are not hard to access. You'll be required to produce them straightaway.
  • Wallets, belts and mobile phones must be put in a tub for X-raying. If you pass through the body scanner with any one of these items, you'll be asked to turn back and remove them.
  • Laptops and other electronic devices must be placed in separate tubs to be X-rayed.
  • Lip balm, toothpaste and other toiletry items in gel, liquid or cream form need to be stored in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They also need to fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear resealable bag.
  • Steel-cap footwear and other bulky shoes are usually X-rayed. Consider wearing lightweight sneakers instead.
  • Pack any pocketknives or other pointy metal items in your checked luggage. Security won't allow these on the plane.

Close your eyes, and imagine a time when horse-drawn carriages galloped through the streets and boats traveled in a hurry toward the shore to unload their wares. Back before cellphone alerts occupied the mind, there was a time when the day was tracked by the sun and a westward mentality inspired great exploration. Other sites, including the Franklin Park Conservatory and Fort Hayes pay tribute to important parts of local history.
