"Excellent hotel - very comfortable, classy rooms"
Loved my stay at the Gramercy - my room was spacious, well appointed comfortable and classy. The hotel restaurant is excellent and the downstairs bartenders are attentive, creative and fun - no pretense! Great location for me with access to Flatiron area and terrific selection of local restaurants ranging from select bar food, top notch Italian to very good Indian food. I got a great deal in an off month and would love to stay here again if rates come down a bit.

"Great hotel in a great location"
First time staying in the city and this hotel was top of the line. The location was pretty central to everything...right near Madison Square Park, about a half mile walk from Penn Station and around 15-20 minutes to Times Square. There were a lot of bars and restaurants nearby, Irish Pub right across the street. The staff was very attentive and extremely accommodating both at the front desk and housekeeping. Check in was easy...ID and credit card. If multiple adults are staying in the room, they may ask for everyone's ID to add it to the reservation. Called for a wake up call and actually got a call on time...some hotels neglect this. The room was a deluxe double room which was one step down from a suite. It can comfortably sleep 4 people and is very spacious....around 375 sqft. The beds were so comfortable, guaranteeing a good nights sleep. The shower was big and spacious and there were plenty of amenity options for purchase right in the room. In addition, everything was very clean which is a huge plus....they definitely do this better than most. Called late the night before checking out to clarify the time and was even given an extra hour! I have absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay here again. Would highly recommend giving them a try. Everything was great! Something to note : There is a $50 deposit per day that you are staying preauthorized on the card. It will clear within 24-72 hours.

"Nice experience overall"
The hotel is very nice, loved the glam style but located a bit far east and not super close to much. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming at check in. The room was tiny, which took some getting used to, but it was well decorated, and had almost everything I could need. That said, there was no Do Not Disturb sign in the room, and when I called in the morning requesting one, it never came (no big deal). Don't miss the penthouse restaurant, which no one mentioned and I didn't see until my last night. I was disappointed I didn't have more time to enjoy it; the view is OUTSTANDING, although the food was overpriced and not super impressive. Despite some of the small drawbacks, it really was a good experience, and I would recommend staying there if you're planning to be on the East Side.

Hotel was very nice. Traffic made it necessary to walk down to Lexington Avenue to hail a cab. Traffic from Queens Tunnel flows through area and is very heavy.

"Adequate hotel if you can get a good deal"
I got an Travelocity deal for $200. For that amount this was adequate. But don't pay full price for this hotel. If you stay here and you want a window that you can see out of you should ask for that. My window was frosted so you couldn't see out of it (room 212). If you just need a place to sleep this is a great's very quiet. Staff was very helpful and nice and my room was very clean. But be aware this hotel doesn't meet normal standard of a Kimpton hotel.

"Everything was great!"
Everything was great!  The entire staff was not only professional, but very personable and accommodating. From the doormen, to the bell hops to the front desk staff and the concierge staff...excellent service!!  My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd anniversary and we were graciously upgraded to a suite near the top floor, as well as complimentary champagne with chocolate covered strawberries and they even through in breakfast one morning!  Very classy!! Kimberly was fabulous!  Upon our return to NYC, we will definitely be staying at The Benjamin again!!!  Double thumbs up to all at The truly made our anniversary in the Big Apple a memorable one!!  Thank you for everything
