Wonderful historic hotel, impeccably maintained

Gorgeous hotel, very clean, comfy beds, nice staff. Made good use of the refrigerator--we made a couple of treks to whole foods and kept it stocked. Subway stop is just across the street (only $2.65 from the airport. 15 min ride). Note: subways do not run 24 hours--we took a taxi back to Logan for our early morning flight--that put us out 20 bucks including tip. We highly recommend the Customs House--couldn't be happier.

I want to live in this hotel!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, gorgeous spacious rooms
Our stay in this hotel was about as perfect as it gets. We were checked in quickly and the staff was friendly and professional. The room was so much more spacious than I expected, and we had a wonderful view of the city. We were given a room near the elevator and I thought it would be noisy, but it wasn't. The decor was gorgeous and restful. We were right by the harbor and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. A continental breakfast was additional, but it worked out to be about $5 per per person. Would I stay here again? ABSOLUTELY!!!

I stayed here for several days on business. The room was elegant and clean. I found the staff very helpful and courteous whenever I interacted with them. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel, great location

Pros: Close restaurants, location
We stayed over Columbus weekend 2010. It is pricey but everything is in this area. The room was a nice size with a small kitchenette that we didn't need for just a few days but would probably come in handy if we stayed longer. The kids were comfortable on the pull out (with their own TV) and the huge bed was sooo comfortable after a day of walking all over Boston. It really felt like a treat to be staying in a piece of history. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the nice lady at the front desk gave our kids info on the history of the hotel and told them where to look for the falcons roosting upstairs. One of the best things about the hotel is having your own personal outside observation deck (we were up there several times). There is a game room for the kids located behind the clock (very cool). The kids played while we had a drink in the small bar. Location is key too! It's great to be right at Quincy Market and 10 minute walk to Little Italy. The only downside is that you are close to the bars and they are noisy at 2am when the patrons are leaving. We were on a lower floor overlooking the Black Rose. We would definitely stay again but ask for a higher floor.

MARRIOTT CUSTOM HOUSE - BOSTON

This five star hotel was perfect for our short two day stay in Boston. It is located adjacent to the Freedom Trail and in near proximity to Quincy Market and the harbor. It was a short walk to the hop-on-hop-off bus we used to tour the city for two days. The two room suite was very nicely appointed and had the comforts we desired including a small frig and microwave. This will be our hotel of choice if we visit Boston in the future.

Great hotel

We spent Columbus weekend at the Custom House and loved it. As soon as you step into the 4- story marble circular lobby you realize you are staying in a bit of history. It is pricey but everything in downtown Boston is. The price is worth it to be so close to everything. You are in Quincy Market and a few minute walk to the aquarium and the North side for the best Italian pastry and food ever. We had a 1 bedroom villa which had a small kitchenette (micro and fridge) that we might have used had we been there for more than the 2 nights we stayed. Our teen and tween slept on the pull-out couch without complaint (probably because they had their own TV. The bedroom had a huge comfy bed and it's own flat screen. The best part of this hotel is it has it's own outside observation deck on the 26th floor that goes around the entire perimeter of the building for a full view of Boston that you can access for day and night views. The staff was friendly and efficient, she even gave our kids information on the history of the hotel and the rare peregrine falcons that nest just above the observation deck. We had a small issue with the change machine in the kids lounge that was taken care of without incident. The kids lounge is located behind the 6 on the clock and also has a small movie theater and a few games. The only downside is being close to everything is that you are also close to the bars that are noisy at 2 am on the weekend. Even though it did wake us up we would without a doubt stay here again.
