"Check in took a while. At 5:00pm, I attempted to use the kiosks check in and I was told I had to use the in person check in as my room may not be ready. The line was several people long. The process took about 30 minutes. Our room was ready but wasn't updated in their system. The key cards a really cool, and they're wooden with Grand Canyon laser cut into them! I kept one for a souvenir! When we arrived at lodge #6, I had my doubts about staying here. The property feels like an older lodge in the woods, has only steps to access the second floor, rollaway beds sitting in the hallway, worn and tattered carpet along the hallway, and an ice machine with a broken tray. But the room was very clean! I liked the Yavapai newsletter left on the tv stand, which was interesting to read! The bed was very comfortable. We did turn on the TV for a few minutes to catch some March Madness while we went to sleep, but the TV is not high definition and is very grainy. I guess you're not at the Grand Canyon to watch TV. It definitely wasn't a dealbreaker. Going to dinner, we saw and elk feeding on grass at the bottom of the stairs to the lodge! What a cool experience! We would definitely stay here again!! "
