The Lodge at Flat Rock
"This may be my favorite hotel of all time, and I can't wait to return. I travel a lot, at all levels from cheap to fancy, all around the world, and this hotel is now at the top of the list because it was soooo homey and personalized and sweet. Also beautiful and excellently maintained. But it was the personality and welcome that really warmed my heart. From free handmade bookmarks at check-in, to personalized notes and chocolates in the room, to the comfy homey lobby, rocking chairs out front, many seating options outside in the back to listen to the waterfall and watch the lightning bugs, board games available... In the room kitchenette, it felt more like an AirBNB than a hotel, with a little basket of free snacks waiting. The place felt like the management actually CARE about creating a high-quality and welcoming space, vs a more depersonalized chain hotel. I am very grateful, and look forward to returning and bringing my family with me next time. Excited about the easy access to waterfalls at Dupont State Park. Very easy access to a good grocery and excellent Thai food too."
