"Clean rooms and nice staff..."
Riu is an older hotel but the beach area is nice and the ocean clear. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the lunch and dinner is your average buffet. The specialty restaurants are nice but you have to book early as space is limited. We came for an inexpensive vacation and this fit the bill. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The rooms are dated but very clean and the a/c worked great and plenty of hot water. It is your typical all inclusive. If you're on the beach, there will be a lot of "vendors" trying to get you to jet ski, parasail, banana boating, selling Cuban cigars and peddling scarfs etc... Just say no thank you and they will move on. It's the Bahamas! People are very laid back and friendly. There is the Atlantis Casino next door within walking distance 5-10 minutes and a large aquarium you can see at night without being a guest. Will go back again!

"Nice hotel!"
I just came back from spending 4 nights at the Colonial Hilton in Nassau. The view is amazing, private beach, great pool. This is a hotel for couple, there were hardly any kids on the premises. I actually don't even remember seeing any kids. Plenty of areas to enjoy a quiet time or mix with other people. The Bullion was always a good time, great drinks and service. The atmosphere was laid back and you could tell even the locals wanted to come and spend time at this nice lounge. Our rooms were clean, although we weren't thrilled with our view, we sort got sent to the left wing of the hotel were there was hardly a good view but we got a view nonetheless. Since the hotel wasn't sold out and they had plenty of rooms I thought it would've been nice if they upgraded us to a nicer room with a better view and we did ask for it but they didn't accommodate our request unfortunately. My overall experience was great, the staff was attentive, helpful and always greeted you with a smile. One thing I didn't like was having to pay the surcharge for energy and service, they ended up totaling over $100 for our 4 night stay.

"We really enjoyed our stay; but rain rain go away!"
We had a great stay at the Sandals. The hotel was lovely and the food was good (and for an all inclusive, I'd consider the food to be GREAT!!!) The staff was generally very friendly and accommodating. Although my one gripe was that in certain spots, service was quite slow (particularly at the Spices buffet, where you have wait to be seated for a very long time when there are plenty of available seats). The only downside is that if it rains, there really is nothing to do. Unfortunately we had some unexpected rain for most of our stay, so it was kind of a bummer. But when the weather was nice, the pools were lovely and the entertainment poolside was fun too. The rooms were large and beds were comfy. The piano bar was really fun at night time as well as the live jazz!

"Great Beach hotel"
My stay was made special by the staff who were very polite and attentive. Younger staff will be wonderful with more opportunity and training. Segulls are a major issue as they became the main attraction and noise makers at the beach and pool area. It became annoying to fight off birds when sitting outside.

"Melia"
Melia's staff was very accommodating. They work very hard in all aspects of the resort. The food was good and the drinks were good. The umbrella situation is terrible, however. We had to get up at 5:30 AM in order to get an umbrella and two chairs each morning as they only had five blue umbrellas on the beach and very few palm umbrellas. The Level had more palm umbrellas, but not enough there either. Everyone was complaining that they didn't do something about that. I would hesitate to go back there for that reason alone. We went when it wasn't that crowded, and it was still very difficult to get reservations in the restaurants as they were quite small for the size of the resort. Summer must be extremely difficult there.

"Fun filled days and romantic evenings"
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices for snack, water, etc. were expensive. Best to bring your own from town. Restaurants were delicious, a little pricey but that' was vacations are for - to treat yourself well! Great water slides.
