Swamp Rabbit Inn

"We wanted to love the Swamp Rabbit Inn. It has a lot of potential-great location just 1-2 blocks from great restaurants and shops, close to Main Street and 1 block from New Realm brewery, which has a very nice outdoor area with fire pits, and decent food and libations. There were some concerns-the temperature in your room in the Inn is not controlled on your room, but in the hallway. When we got to the Inn in the afternoon, the temperature outside was in the 60’s and it was actually colder inside-because the AC was set to 61 degrees. After a day, we changed it downstairs and it was much more comfortable. We may have been the only people at the inn the first two nights, and the 2nd two nights there were other guests in the 7 room inn. We thought that there was a decent selection of make it yourself food and snacks in the kitchen. But only 1 mug downstairs for coffee. The first morning we went downstairs to eat there were bags of cleaning supplies and food on the table in the kitchen. Had to put the milk in the fridge. The room itself was large enough but at night there was no lighting on the end by the desk and couch-could definitely use a lamp. My husband rented a bike and we had a great ride on the lovely Swamp Rabbit Trail-which is only blocks away. One of the other guests said he had no hot water in his shower for two days, but we did in our bathroom. The Swamp Rabbit Inn is a nice alternative to traditional motels, but I think it could use some attention, and upgrades."
