Not what we expected -Too much $$$ spent not to be satisfied
First… let me say this. When someone chooses your vacation rental the very least you can do is to make their stay as comfortable as possible. This was not the case. Problem #1, On the VRBO website a deposit was stated to be paid once we arrived on property. But then I get a notification few days before arrival to say if I don’t pay, my booking which was already paid in full would be cancelled. Called host and he was very rude as I explained I was going by what was on website. Problem #2: Arrived to house and although the furniture was as shown on website; the nasty carpet was not. We had to wear flip flops not even socks because the floors and carpet were nasty. Problems #3-10; The place has not been dusted because my headboard, was piled with dust. Our beds hard as rock mattress definitely did not provide a good night sleep. The living room sofa looked like it was broken, then someone attempted to fix it but now looks uneven and pillows were dirty. There were marks on walls, cracked refrigerator shelf, the themed bedroom lights were flicking and not working properly. The bunk bed step railing was broken. I told the host that the issues that I described can be fixed if really serious about investing in the changes needed. We went to visit other family members whom were renting a house in this same resort area and their home was cleaned-no carpet/ no broken furniture. Brought issues to host and per host, going to look into it and compensate but nothing was done. Dissatisfied.
