My (full-price) room had a large hole and stain on the wall, and 2 other holes that had been plastered, but not repainted. Paint peeling on door frame. The kitchenette was a small microwave perched on top of a small fridge. TV screen was a smaller than my computer screen at home. Shampoo dispenser was gone (taken) entirely. It all looked shabby. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and I know they have some nice rooms, but not this time.

The hotel is close to the metro station, about a 5 min walk. There are some nice restaurants within a 3 min walk of the hotel. The staff were friendly, any requests were answered or taken of promptly. The hotel and our room were clean. Parking is available on-site and free, which is a bonus, cause most other places charge extra to park your vehicle off-site, or parking is not available. This was my second time staying at Ruby Foo's and it won't be the last.

The hotel is very clean and staff are friendly and helpful. In spite of being located on a very busy boulevard the hotel is quiet and there is plenty of parking available on site. It is a short walk to the metro and there are lots of stores and a wide variety of fast food, as well as dine-options nearby. I look forward to staying there in the future, when renovations have been completed and more amenities are available on-site. If there were any renovations going on during my stay, I didn't notice. My room was near the elevator, which makes a squeaky, grinding noise, which you didn't notice until late at night, but it was not loud or enough to impede or disturb my sleep.

The pipes backed up a couple times while we stayed and did not let the sink or shower drain properly, we also found an old apple under our bed. We did enjoy our stay here and loved the look of the hotel.

I had a great stay at the hotel. Free parking was a bonus. The room was bright, very clean, with updated furniture and fixtures. Bathroom was also very clean, in great working order (shower, towels, toiletry, etc). Staff were great and friendly. The gym was well equipped and convenient too. The location is close to the recently opened new upscale mall close to subway. It is beside a major highway too so it was easy to travel. The neighbourhood was not very nice though, but safe. Other than the mall food court, which was great, there were not many options for nice dining. However, I spent most of my time in down town or old Montreal so it was not an issue. All in all I had a great stay in Ruby Foo and will recommend it without hesitation.

Property is a good price but you need to have a car and now the city. For me its not too far from the airport for when I have a layover in Montreal. It’s also close to Dunn’s for a late night snack of Montreal Smoke Meat and Poutine
