This hotel is not worth what we paid. Because it was a chain - Best Western - I assumed it would adhere to a certain standard of cleanliness and service. We paid $1500 CAD for 4 nights and the room was very old and dirty. The carpet in our room made our socks black so we had to keep our shoes on the entire time, the room had mold and the shower wouldn't drain so you showered in water that was backing up from the drain. There were hairs on the floor and shower curtain from previous customers. The beds were doubles which was very small for two people. I assumed a "double" meant a double standard with two Queen beds. The pillows were very low quality and tiny and the duvets weren't inside a duvet cover which made us wonder if they washed them between guests. It was pretty gross, actually. The staff doesn't greet you and it felt like you are bothering them when you arrive. It is not what we expected for a Best Western at all. The building is very old and should be renovated. Do not waste your money. For our first time in Chicago it was very disappointing to stay here.

Location was great. Literally right next to Grant Park and short walk to The Shedd Aquarium and The Field Museum. Hotel was a little dated for the price per night. Could use a furniture update.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Not too much in the middle of things but nit out the way either. The hotel itself was average. Altough the building looks new* from ourside... inside looks like an older modeled hotel. The rooms were not modern but was comfortable for the most part. I was a bit freaked out by the door lock or lack there of and the extremely LARGE spacing under and around the doorframe. However, Expedia was helpful in addressing my fear and concerns. Might stay again but maybe not alone.

We were disappointed, the room was small. The layout was so that if you were on the sofa/sofa sleeper, you could not see the TV, the bathroom toilet leaked, we reported it twice. Still wasn't fixed by the time we left. Only had 2 bath towels very that thin and worn. No free parking and no free breakfast.

Property was average, and we got what we paid for. Room was a bit old and the bed was uncomfortable to sleep on. Pillows were about half the side of normal pillows. Area was nice and parking was available. Staff in the morning was nicer than staff in the evening, made me feel like the evening staff had a long day. Overall was worth what we paid for and is close to a lot of things and the area is safe.

Great for cheaper budget option (cheaper than downtown not necessarily cheap overall) as accessible location with local trader joes and dining nearby. However hotel itself run down and very basic and lots of homeless and dodgy characters around - not for lone travellers. Staff member would not allow my child to fill up his water bottle using the free water machine in the lobby. Great budget option if you want no frills and travelling in a group
