A Tulsa icon does not disappoint

Pros: The main thing that I liked about The Mayo is that it lived up to it's reputation by being "old school" yet modern.
Cons: I probably would not change much of anything, I did not eat there, but as with most places the food was a little pricey.
Location: Downtown Tulsa and the "Oil Capital" in general is loaded with attractions. The Philbrook is an absolute treasure!
The Mayo has a 4 star rating, and by my standards was a 4.7!!! It is a beautiful place with friendly staff, clean rooms and good views of downtown Tulsa. The only drawback were the birds (or were they ghosts?) on the outside ledge that banged around on the window some. A wonderful place to spend a honeymoon!!!

Nice hotel, Nice area. Not perfect…..

Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: Eat at Laffa and get desert at Antoinette's Bakery (Pie night Fri & Sat!) Whatever you do DON'T go to nearby Improv on a Thur, Have Car? Kilkenny's!
We enjoyed our stay, But we also know that for less money we would have enjoyed staying 2 blocks away. First, what was good: The lobby is sharp. Staff is professional. Location is safe and one of the very few walkable Oklahoma areas. The suite was decent sized and bathroom attractive and modern. Now for the demerits. I do admit that I really hate having zero parking options other than $20 valet (which needs to be increased with tips.) UHGG. And the suite was laid out very strange where the bed was far from the toilet, requiring walking through the sitting room. Too far and complicated for the twice a night people. Also the view from my particular room was awful. Also we only had one poorly functioning remote for both rooms. (I bet they would have fixed that) and too few wash cloths and there was zero bedding for the hide-a-bed which had the worst mattress I have EVER seen. It really was so bad that you could see the wires before you laid down on them. Big oversight. BUT…. The bath and kitchenette were both very nice.

Great historical hotel in the oil city

I felt like I was meeting Elvis, President Reagan, and Kennedy at the breakfast restaurant. The structure was great classical style and the room was spacious. I was in the second floor, and the windows were bolt locked. I couldn't get the fresh air while the room was filled with too strong perfume odor.

Beautiful hotel, horrible staff

Valet broke our car key after having our car only 1 hour. After speaking to several managers (Katie, William and 2 others) were told, "Oh. Sorry. Our valet dropped it." No offer to credit or fix our remote car key. Our breakfast had several items missing that we ordered (cream and sugar for coffee, ketchup, and only 1 set of silverware). After a few requests finally get all missing items. Beautiful hotel though! The rooftop bar is beautiful!

Overnight in Tulsa

Pros: Youthful, efficient and friendly.
Cons: Nothing of importance
Location: Stroll around a compact downtown. ee majestic, interesting churches. The Performing Arts Center is big league.
The Mayo is a touch of sophistication at the right price. Our dinner at the hotel was excellent , chosen from an interesting menu. Hotel gave us a ride to the performing Arts Center for our performance and generally accomodated our needs .. The rooftop bar was perfect for a nightcap..

loved

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, room size
Cons: Poor breakfast
this hotel is by far the nicest hotel i've stayed at. valet is a bit slow so i would recommend calling ahead for car retrieval. the rooftop bar is awesome and was packed each night of our stay. the front desk staff seemed to be relatively new and a bit slower but were nice so i didnt mind. i found out about the mayo in southern living magazine and was not disappointed. no tub in the rooms though, we had a spa shower with 3 shower heads...MY FAVORITE PART... will definitely come back! no breakfast room service but i was told they are working on it upon checking out
