Convenient "boutique" hotel near center OKC
Pros:In-house restaurant, room appointments, convenience to my meetings.
Cons:Parking convenience and cost.
Location:Several restaurants. Close enough for the adventurous and healthy to walk to downtown things, such as Bombing Memorial, and Oklahoma Art Museum.
Most of my stay at a new (for me) hotel in OKC was excellent. It is convenient to activities and meetings downtown, but is quieter than places in exact center and Bricktown. The staff is very accomodating and friendly, and the in-hotel restaurant is excellent, and foodie-oriented, instead of quick/buffet style that is trendy in many convention hotels. it is a little too pricey, especially when valet parking is almost necessary. The self-serve lot is too far a walk from the hotel, and valet parking is $18.00/day plus tips. Downtown is NOT a comfortable walking distance, and requires either a car, or using the hotel shuttle service, which covers a three-mile area. (I did not use it, and don't know if it was a good way to get around.)
The only glitch was check-in. I arrived at 2:30 for a listed 3:00 PM check-in time. My room was not ready. I finally gained access to the room at 3:40 PM, after their having incorrectly sent a cleaning crew to the wrong room. Travelers nowdays can't always control the time of arrival, and I have seldom had a top hotel make me wait a long time, even if I appear something before check-in time. They smoothed my impatience by offering two complimentary breakfasts, which I appreciated. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone interested in a smaller, quieter place that has great food.
