    "It's nice and clean. The food was plenty and reasonable quality. The concrete pad under the most of the beach wasn't too pleasant. Activities inside the resort are nearly non-existent, probably because of the windy weather. If you ask a question (like were you can get towels or rent fins) they either do not know or send you to the place where those are sold or rented for money..."

    "Overall, Catalonia was ok. Pros included a great beach, descent grounds (cute little Coatis everywhere), a nice pool, a good sized room, and somewhat friendly staff. Although, the staff was pretty hit or miss. Some were super friendly, especially the housekeeping staff, and others were just rude. We also really enjoyed the dinner/show at Rauxa, which is the only restaurant you need a reservation for (and honestly, the only one worth eating at). The free rentals for kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling were also nice. For cons, overall the food is absolutely terrible... and I mean TERRIBLE. We opted for the Privileged accommodations, which was good because by and large the the Privileged restaurant, BLoved, was the only thing really edible. As mentioned, a lot of the staff were apathetic at best and some were just downright rude. The good news is, it was only about a $25 cab ride into Downtown Playa Del Carmen, where you could get a good meal. All things considered, I don't think we'd stay here again."
