"There’s something about this hotel that captures my heart.
I don’t know if it’s the simple experience of walking down a hotel hallway that is wide enough to easily allow two people to walk side-by-side.
I’m not sure if it’s the fact that there are are benches in the hotel’s hallways.
I’m not sure if it’s because one of the rooms in the hotel is squeezed between two book shelves harry potter style.
Honestly, I’m not sure what it is. But , if I had to guess I’d say that this hotel has captured my heart because it’s its own original self. It’s not a copy of a copy of a copy that was invented after 10 rounds of focus testing.
Being near the White Mountains, the place has a certain quietness to it. I appreciate that. It allows me to do simple things like sit on hotels’ patio that has an all encompassing view of the mountains and simply observe the mountains and quietly rock bath and forth in a rocking chair. There’s something about this quiet that you can’t quite find in the suburbs. You can come close but it’s not quite the same.
It’s the quite country feel combined with the romanticism of an old hotel that makes the place one of the last of it’s kind. Check it out. You won’t regret it.
Btw . . . the food served in the hotel restaurants is simply not good. The beer menu isn’t bad though. I didn’t try any wines so I can’t comment on them."
A verified traveler stayed at Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa
"We had 8 people staying for a retirement party. We thought the view was amazing. The house was well appointed. The driveway was a bit scary due to incline and weather, but we all had AWD and no trouble getting up the hill. The place was perfect for our gathering. Very clean. Very comfortable"
