Located a couple blocks from the main casinos in Reno, so, it felt a little isolated. And the hotel still needs to build up its clientele.

New classy resort, a better option the nearby old traditional grungy casinos two blocks away. Loved their buffet, cheaper than most. Walking distance to river, restaurants, and grungy casinos.

Home in Reno

We visit Reno and have stayed at a few of the Casinos. We've been looking for the one to call home when we visit and now we've found it!! J Resort is relaxing, beautiful, clean and even though there is smoking I really didn't notice that overwhelming smell. The staff in every situation was very helpful and nice. We really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves and we can't wait to see you @ J Resort.

We were warned upon check in that there was construction work starting at 0800 that may affect our room. On the first morning work started before 0700, noisy right by the window of the room. We rang reception who said they would make a call to get the work stopped, it didn’t stop. After getting up (earlier than planned because of the disturbance,) we nade our feelings known at reception where they knocked $30 off the bill and told us they would contact the builders so it wouldn't happen again. Morning 2, work began 0730, so much for the 0800 start time. At 0800 some very loud drilling started, even with a warning that noise would occur the noise was ridiculously loud, how anyone could enjoy a stay with the loud noise is ridiculous. Its a shame as the room itself was lovely and comfortable but with construction noise early morning and so loud it ruined the stay.

Second time staying here and although the room was clean other factors made it a sub par experience. Payed for the 2 queen w/ balcony and kitchenette, was not expecting construction workers to be carrying equipment and materials across my 6th floor balcony at 6:30 am. Housekeeping was difficult to just get towels from because of language barriers which turned it into a 10 min ordeal, for just towels. Maintenance was done between the hours of 1am-4am with power outage, which was fine, was told about it at check in, but by the next morning the elevators ran very laggy and continued for 2 days until checking out. Thin doors to hallway so could hear every time someone walked by. Overall just was not a great experience, rather stay at the row.

Honest Review of J Resort, Reno, NV I recently stayed at J Resort in Reno, and while the price was unbeatable at $42 per night, you really get what you pay for. The Good: Affordability: $42 a night is hard to beat. Hannah’s Cafe: Decent food, nothing spectacular but edible. The Bad: Smoky Atmosphere: The entire hotel reeks of cigarette smoke, including the so-called fitness center. Fitness Facilities: It’s a tiny weight room with no towels, and yes, it also smells like smoke. No Spa: Despite being advertised as having one, there was no spa available. Buffet Quality: The seafood was fishy and old-tasting, definitely not fresh. Final Verdict: If you’re just looking for a cheap place to crash and don’t mind the smell of cigarettes, J Resort might work for you. But if you’re expecting resort-level amenities, a quality dining experience, or fresh air, you’ll be disappointed. ⭐ 2/5 – You get what you pay for.
