My family and myself had a great vacation at this hotel

Pros: Quiet, great staff
Cons: No free Internet, airport transportation
I visited this hotel last summer and I recommended this place to my other friend. We came this summer with two families. I wish the hotel provide two things: 1) Free shuttle transportation to/form Airport 2) Free Wiki Internet access. The $12 wiki is sorta expensive. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Satay way from the timeshare presentation!!!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
The place is good, the only item that I would caution my fellow travelers on is the timeshare presentation. They are very highly motivated to sell the place to the point of insulting you. Stay way from the presentation if you can!!!!! If you can't, asked for the foreclosure price..

Great vacation!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, great pool, nice beach, restaurant very close to the beach; great views, good food
Cons: internet access costs extra
We spent a week at Villa del Palmar Flamingos during the last week of March, and had a great week! The resort has a beautiful pool, a great beach, very nice rooms, good security, and it's in a safe area. We had the two room suite, which was awesome; it had a kitchen, a dining area, living area, washer and dryer, huge furnished balconies, big bedrooms, nice bathrooms... the rooms are beautiful, with stone floors, nice furnishings. We loved it! The bed was a little firm, but even though I am used to sleeping on a softer mattress, I found it to be comfortable. We opted to do the all-inclusive option, and the food was overall very good. It's not the best I've ever had, but it was good, and far better than other all-inclusives we've tried in the past. We did tip the staff, as they only get a few dollars a day in tips from the all-inclusive packages. As with pretty much every resort we've been to in Mexico, they will try to get you to sit through the time-share presentation and tour. We refused. All in all, we loved it, and would go back again.

Can't wait to go back!

Pros: Quiet, washer in dryer, hotel grocery store was well priced
Cons: No free Internet
The Villa del Palmar was really a great location for our family vacation. The timeshare sales pitch wasn't so bad if you just stood firm and said no to all offers. The 20% discount for the week made sitting through the presentation well worth our time. The rooms were very nice and our suite even had a washer and dryer in the unit, something we never had at the Grand Mayan. While the food options were a bit limited, the quality of food was very good. The beach-side fiesta had some of the best food I have ever eaten. If you really want to go fancy you will need to leave the property but we don't eat many fancy meals so the steakhouse and Italian restaurant fit us to a T. The resort staff were fantastic and made you feel like more than just a guest. We cannot wait to go back to this location.

Nice and Comfie Hotel

Pros: clean and safe
Cons: too far out from main sites
The Villa del Palmar Flamingos Hotel was Great! Outstanding service. The staff were friendly and accomodating to our every needs. The only thing I did Not Like is the sales pitch of the hotel to join their timeshare. But apart from that it was a great stay. I'd definately recommend to friends. The hotel is situated far from main sites of Puerto Vallarta so it was a 40 mins drive to get to old downtown Puerto Vallarta and the main sites. But the hotel is safeguarded by security at the entrance which was great.

Villa del Palmae Flamingos Beach Resort Anonymous from MN

Great resort. Loved it. Absolutely perfect 6 days. Hotel, service, pool, beach-exceptional. We did all-inclusive and found it to be very good and a great value. All-inclusive: breakfast: you can choose the breakfast buffet or order off the menu; lunch: we ordered lunch on the beach from the pool pizza bar-the pizza was good and the chicken kabobs were excellent. Dinner was good in both the Bella Vista and the Italian restaurant (the pool bar becomes an Italian restaurant at night.) We went into Bucearias, a fishing village north of the resort and ate at Adauto's, at the recommendation of Antonio, Bellman Extraordinaire. Fabulous octopus, lobster burrito, seafood nachos. Tip: Just say no thanks to the time share recruitment, which begin at the airport. Don't be taken in. It is not worth the discount or the cheap bottle of tequila. Great vacation.

Not up to expectations

The good things first: nice staff, courteous, friendly and prompt to serve. architecture or hotel very pleasing, rooms was clean, everthing worked fine. Pool is very beautiful and hotel has a great beach.....The bad: bed was very hard and uncomfortable, room walls very poorly insulated and tile floors transmit every pin drop. We had a 1st floor suite close to restaurant/bar and it sounded like the dishes were being washed in our room. Repeat the process in the morning. food at Italian restaurant was awful.we had a pasta dinner that was cooked by an amateur. All meals and drinks are way over priced, even tho you have a discount card for sweating thru the timeshare presentation. Fancy a 9 oz smoothie at $*? It gets a little expensive rather quickly. Happy hour? forget it, its only good for tequila drinks, not rum, vodka or beer.(which I prefer) Next year get me back to the hotel zone close to downtowm Vallarta where you have options!

Nice Suite; I'd stay again...senior traveler

This was my first stay at the property and didn't know what to expect. I did not chose the All Inclusive Option. Be aware (I wasn't) that some discounts are available if you go to a sales/investment meeting. Everything seemed new and clean. The spa was nice, especially the giant whirlpool. I'd good back, and would recommend the place.

Fantastic family vacation - we will go back!

This the nicest resort I have stayed at. The grounds and suites are large (we had a 2 bedroom), beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The balcony was huge and had great views! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our two daughter (3 & 6) loved the pool, beach and theme nights. We did not do the time share sales and wish we had. We heard from others that it is not high pressure and that you get 20% off all food and drinks if you sit through the sales pitch and take a tour. The food is slightly expensive, but good. The shop at the hotel is convenient, but we found it better to take a cab to the Megamart - better selection. My only complaint about the hotel is that it can be hard to get a lounge chair at the pool. We will be back!

Great Room, Great Pool, Great People

We stayed at the Flamingos 10/3/09-10/10/09 and have nothing but great things to say about our time spent there. The property is well situated between Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias. Puerto Vallarta is a 20 minute bus ride that costs 16 pesos and Bucerias is a great little town that is a 15 minute walk down the beach. The room was all marble, very clean and well taken care of. The maid service took great care of you( I left 3 american dollars a day), towel animals and all, never running out of the basics. The pool never felt crowded, had plenty of lounge chairs and was our idea of a tropical setting. Palm tree buit-ins and waterfalls provided plenty of shade from the ever present sunshine. I cannot say enough about the friendly staff and their efforts to make sure your every need was accounted for. There are no language barriers on the property, seems everyone spoke English well. The doormen (Alonzo) provided a wealth of local knowledge for the hidden spots off the beaten path and tips on how to get around town best. All great things are there and we cannot wait to return to see the friends we made there in the near future.
