We loved this resort and would come back in a heartbeat. The food and drinks were delicious and Everything was made to order instead of buffets. The pool area had plenty of seating and shade. The staff was attentive and quick to add umbrellas and make sure you had everything you needed. We made a trip over to their sister resort ( Marival Emotions) and quickly realized how good we had it at this resort. We ate at all 4 restaurants and visited the bar and we’re satisfied every single time! Would recommend to friends and family!

TRAVELERS BEWARE!!!! We are extremely disappointed with our experience. We had an amazing stay and had even made plans to return with our family members at a later date. Our disappointment came the last day as we were headed to the airport. We hired a private transportation service given our experience from extensive travel to Mexico, it is much safer to do in comparison to a taxi/Uber. We checked out today and on our way to the airport we were ambushed by three cars of taxi drivers along with the hotel staff (I believe they were bus boys who ultimately tipped off the taxi drivers). This was the scariest experience of my life especially with a one year old in the car. A taxi driver stopped in front of our car and blocked our driver from taking us to the airport. My life flashed before my eyes as I thought we were about to get robbed at gun point. Luckily, our driver acted fast and the company immediately noticed and called our driver when they noticed he went off route (the car was GPS tracked). We later found out the bus boys tipped off the taxi drivers and security at the hotel strip exit who ultimately blocked us off. I’ll spare all the details but the company was able to dispatch security and de-escalate the situation. After calling the hotel, they only made excuses by saying the private transportation company hadn’t paid their monthly quota to the union. Regardless, we should have never been involved in business disputes and bus boys should be reprimanded.

We would like to tell you that we are really concerned about the bad experience you had with your private transportation on your departure day and the inconvenience they caused to you and your family, it is a shame that something that is completely out of our hands, overshadowed the wonderful stay you had with us. We would like to clarify that this situation is not related at all to our bell boys or security staff or any other member of our Hotel, this situation was between the private transportation you booked and the Taxis Union that, important to note, do not belongs to our Hotel. We have no idea about that Company have or not a previous agreement with the Taxis Union in order to be able to pick up guests from Hotels. Please be assured that we are already taking the appropriate actions in this matter; together with the Hotels’ Association in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit and Executives from other important Hotels, we are trying to stop this unpleasant situations from happening again since they damage the image of our beautiful destination. 4th time here, will be back

Pros: beautiful setting, pools never are too busy, always easy to find tables for dinner and lounge chairs for sun.
Cons: beds were uncomfortably firm.
Location: we are couch potatoes but our group had plenty of things to keep busy, scuba diving and whale watching, used the bikes, kayaks, and wave boards.
food is top notch, drinks excellent, very friendly staff. Service was a little off this time from past stays but still a great, relaxing vacation.

Awesome staff, nice view

Pros: The rooms were big, meeting new people, getting to know the staff, just being spoiled
Cons: Our a/c in our bedroom wasn't cool enough, we had some heavy rain during our stay and water came through our front door, window ledge and on the porch
Location: We walked to the beach ev ryday. Took a cab to puerto Vallarta for $15. Pretty much stayed at the resort
The staff was amazing. The hotel was well cleaned. The food was amazing. I want to come back soon

We will be back!

Amazing resort! Loved every bit of our stay! We had 1 disappointing meal at the Mediterranean restaurant at the other resort but all other food and drinks were awesome. Staff was wonderful. We will be back. The demi room could not have been more perfect!

If you have a family this is the place to stay

Pros: Food, rooms, and especially the staff. The whole facility is perfect.
Cons: WIFI. Stop trying to sell us something minutes after we arrive.
Location: Zip lining. Dolphin swim. Boogie boarding. Sayulita.. Las Caletas.
It was our third year staying at this hotel. My wife had doubts the first time but it has been wonderful enough that she now does not want to go anywhere else. The staff members shine brightly at the resort. They are friendly. They are attentive. They are very good at what they do. Francisco, Fernando, and Esmeralda stood out. They made my wife feel special on her birthday….and for that matter the day after as well. The food is excellent. No matter what restaurant you choose there---and there are several. The menus have a lot of options, with good many of them healthy. The rooms are amazing. They are comfortable, clean, and even have a washer/dryer. They have L’Occitane products in the bathrooms. A friggin’ moat to swim in if you have a suite on the ground floor. A large pool area, Jacuzzi area, nice gym. Their sister resort is a short free shuttle away where you can rent free boogie boards and enjoy the ocean. I appreciated that it was a comfortable place to bring kids. Other families there as well. No frat boys, no loud parties. Only cons, and they are minor. The WIFI sucks. And they are always trying to sell you on time shares*/*/*or the equivalent thereof*/*/*ten minutes after you arrive. Then they stop. A few hints. Bring at least 400 pesos or more for tips. Don’t book your cab from airport through the hotel. It will be expensive. Get it when you arrive from $8 to $40 depending on where you catch it at. Also book any excursions when you get there from third parties, l

Great Food and Facility, Mediocre Service

Pros: Spacious, comfortable rooms, views on higher floors, some very excellent food. Nice pool, somewhat quieter than a big resort. Ice cream by the pool.
Cons: They make you wait in a bar to be check in; terrible start to a trip. Need more poolside and brunch waiters during peak times.
Location: Old town Puerto Vallarta and the boardwalk are lovely areas to explore. La Palapa and Oscar's were excellent restaurant. The piers are nice also.
Generally, we had a nice stay but the Marival Residences misses in several crucial ways. PROS: Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and ours (5th floor) had a nice view. Food was excellent at Omaggio's, Insu (great view) and Lemmon Grass. The pool area is lovely and so is the beach club. It's not ideal to shuttle to the beach but we never waited long. CONS: They make you wait in the bar to check in. Sounds nice until you realize it's so they can pitch their Vacation Club; truly terrible start. Service is hit or miss; usually not enough waiters. At brunch we waited too long to get a table cleared and set; service priority was random. Poolside, it takes forever to flag a server, get drinks or a menu. Miguel was awesome but some of the staff do not belong in service. Waiter at Omaggio's took my husband's order first for every course and drink. Letting people smoke there at dinner is backwards especially with 3 tables with children around. I spent a ridiculous amount of time just waiting to sign for the food, even though we had the all inclusive. Carlos (concierge) made a dinner reservation at Las Palomas at the sister resort; they had no reservation and sat us at the worst table even though it was empty. Carlos also insisted on keeping my son's toy to repair it with glue; he never contacted us or did anything, and instead lost it. I ended my trip listening to him call lost and found. Staff promising to do simple stuff and not following through was a recurring problem.

Beautiful Hotel!

My family and I had a wonderful week at Marival Residences! One word of advice is to be prepared for the sales pitch when you get checked in and the concierge representatives were a little rude. However, the resort staff were amazing and super friendly!
