The room was good, the food was ok….but the pools were just overcrowded. The beach was ok, lots of chairs, but the resort needs to clean the very dirty chairs( bird poop) and filthy small tables, many drink spills on them. A nightly hose down and a quick wipe down on the tables would’ve been appreciated.

Just returned from our stay here. The room was cleaned daily and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The sports bar area did have a strange smell to it and the food and late night snacks could use some improvement. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found it to be a beautiful beach and pool.

The room was small, and I forgot how small a double bed was. Hotel staff was good, buffet was very good. Steak house, Italian and Japanese food(buffet style) all great. Props to Mimi and abner at the pool side for a great time. Lots of activities and kids loved the kids club. Would be nice if the kids could eat at the kids club. Hours are (10-1300, then 1500-1700) Good spot overall, in line with competition at this price point.

Fantastic trip. Great location. The staff were awesome, always very helpful and attentive. Room was nice, very spacious and clean. Our view was awesome, overlooking the pools and ocean. Food was good the only thing I would like is for them to stagger the restaurants hours. The buffet opens back up at 1 pm and that's all you have, other then the burger stand near the pools, until 6 pm when the restaurants open, but it always felt like a mad dash and scramble to catch them before they reached their max occupancy. Other than that I wish they had more things to do, outside of the pool. I would definitely go back.

Had a wonderful stay at the Riu Vallarta, brought our 3 year old son along and the staff was so great and attentive to him , his favorite part was the new towel animals that our cleaners made for him everyday. We absolutely loved the scenery and all the palms . Was well taken care of. Will definitely be back again soon !

Nice and clean room and hotel. Unfortunately they were doing construction of fire doors right outside my room door. The paint had very noxious fumes that drifted into my room and made it hard to sleep for 2 nights.

My stay at Riu Vallarta was amazing. From the moment I arrived, the bell boy Marco was so friendly and helpful. The concierge was also lovely. It was a birthday trip so they made sure to send me a lovely gift to my room. Overall, the service is amazing.

The food and amenities were great, the staff were friendly once we arrived for check-in. We had a glitch because of our flight delay of seven plus hours thereby missing our connecting flight. We arrived 24 hours after our check-in time but the hotel held our reservation after a few frantic phone calls. Once we got settled into our room our vacation was great.
