The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. If I needed anything I could easily find a staff member within a minute. The hotel was very clean and they were continually cleaning. The Riu Vallarta was an exceptional value as well.

Staff very pleasant. Food was great. Room very adequate. However, the flight was very unsatisfactory and Travelocity should not use American airlines to bookflight. standed in Dallas airport overnight with no offer of food, blanket or compensation of anytype. The itinerary obviously cannot be done. Could not get through customs and recheck luggage in a timely matter, though customs was not stalled or backed up. Was a big let down after a good vacation.

Wish we could have made a reservation at the steak house. We were unable to eat there the entire week due to limited seating. Loved the staff, and property. Very nice resort.

This resort is all-inclusive and had a great selection of foods/beverages. It is mostly buffet style so perhaps the quality isn’t 5-star, but it was good nonetheless. The walls are a bit thin, but that’s nothing too abnormal. The water tends to run warm even when the faucet is turned to the “cold” side (I love hot showers so this wasn’t an issue for me). I also booked a round trip shuttle ride at the time I booked my stay and I was grateful I did. There are A TON of sales reps that try to get you to follow them after deplaning, but BEWARE these are just time share salesman and YOU DO NOT have to “check in” with them. All of the taxis/shuttles are OUTSIDE. Just keep walking. I highly recommend the Riu Vallarta and would definitely go back to PV again!

Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. After two horrible days, we ended up leaving Riu for Marival. Comparing the way both hotels treated their staff as well as the guests was huge. We were guest at Marival. At Riu, we felt as if we were only in their way. Here is my list of concerns about this hotel. No coffee maker in room No robe in room No toiletry items (ie shampoo, lotion) in room Watered down drinks Horrible buffet food AC in room stuck at 28 C Nothing but a thin sheet on the bed Staff would not give daughter towel because she didn't have a mask Staff would not tell me the activities because I didn't have a phone on me to scan a QR code Interior staff- rude Unable to sit as party of 5, separated between two tables. Room flooded on the afternoon of 7-22 and no resolved until the next morning at 10:00 am. No working shower in room from 7-22 to 7-23 Staff would not send maintenance to repair TV. Corridor have not been mopped since we arrived. A roach was on the stairs for three days. Told front desk staff daily.

This was an average three star hotel. Really the only thing I can say that I really liked was the closeness to the ocean. The property is not so big and the walk to the beach is not too long. Most of the wait staff look like they druther be somewhere else. And were not overly friendly.
