The place is beautiful! Spotless, rooms are great, beach is awesome and the water perfect for swimming. The staff is ten out of ten. They work hard to make your experience enjoyable. My only complaint was the food. Not so great. We did the buffet, the Steakhouse, Kyoto,l Italian, the American Bar, and Pepe's. All of it was disappointing. But to be fair, its probably hard to offer so many different varieties of food and make it amazing.

Facilities were clean, food was sub par an unimpressive. Pools were to hot at 95 and party pool was closed for two days. Riu white party was advertised but found out that the sister hotel that held the party was closed. We will not be going back to the Riu Palace.

Second day someone threw up in the swim up bar. Last night being here, my lady got a veggie burger with NO mayonnaise but it ended up coming with cheese and nowhere on the menu it says that it comes with it. The waiter tried flipping it on her and get all in her face and we just decided to leave with that terrible service. His name was Rio or something like that. It was in the American Country Dining. This happened literally last night at like 10pm.

Extremely clean! That was something we noticed right away. Lots of restaurant options and buffet was delicious. There were gluten free options (although limited) there was at least 1 menu option in each restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only thing that we found limited was bathrooms around the resort. There was 1 in lobby, 1 at the beach, and 1 at the spa/gym area. None of the restaurants had one and neither did the theatre. Overall fantastic trip and would recommend this location

We LOVED our stay & def hope to be back in the future! Clean rooms, great food & great service from every aspect. Everyone is also just so nice and attending. The only thing was that the WiFi would stop working at night randomly which was when we’d be in bed & also they didn’t let us check in an hour earlier. But overall 10/10!

Friendly staff, very accommodating and no "up-sales". Multiple pools, from quiet to party atmosphere if you need a break. Beach is quiet, minimal vendors and none on private Riu section; staff keeps them away.

My experience at this resort was disappointing overall. I had spent hours researching and carefully choosing what I thought would be the perfect place to celebrate my 40th birthday, and I even brought a group of people with me. I emailed the hotel multiple times before our stay to confirm details and request something special for the occasion, and not a single email was ever answered. When we checked in, not only was nothing meaningful done to acknowledge my milestone birthday, but we were also charged more than expected. All reception did for my birthday was leave a small piece of cake in my room. On the bright side, when we went to the Japanese restaurant for dinner on my actual birthday, the staff there treated me amazingly and even sang a song; that was the only part that felt like a celebration. To make matters worse, I wasn’t even given the room I specifically requested, and the Wi-Fi was terrible; it barely worked most of the time. For a resort of this level and reputation, the lack of communication, customer service, and attention to detail was extremely disappointing. The one thing I can say is that the property itself is very clean; you rarely saw garbage, even in the garbage cans. It would be a really nice place if you’re just going for a getaway or no special occasions, but if you’re expecting to celebrate something meaningful, I would look elsewhere.
