The train car was very clean with everything you would need. My 4 year old loved the idea of staying in the "night train" as he called it. However, the listing is right on a busy highway and next to an apartment complex. The pictures did show the listing on the highway, so that was accurate, but I guess I did not realize how busy the road. I think it would be fine for older kids, but with a toddler it was concerning so we couldn't enjoy the back porch/fire pit area because it isn't fenced all the way around. The beds were all comfortable, but the king bed mattress was pretty sqeaky, so everytime my husband or I moved we woke each other up. The couch was pretty uncomfortable and small if you want to have more than 2 adults and a small child. I think the train car would benefit from a bigger, more comfortable couch. I know you are limited in space, so I get it, but just a thought. In the end, two days was just fine, and it was super close to Dollywood, which is why we were there in the first place. All that to say, the train car is really cute for the asthetic, but also kind of like Vegas, it's a two day max stay.

This listing was so beautiful and our kids loved staying in a caboose! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the listing was accurate. It is right beside the main road, so there is a lot of traffic noise, but that's to be expected. I appreciate how close it was to everything. The only thing I would note is there was so many huge spiders on the back deck and seating area, which made my kids afraid to sit outside near the campfire (none inside though). We would definitely stay again!

The Perfect Stay for our Family

We had a wonderful time staying at Smoky Mountain Station. Place was clean, check-in was smooth and as advertised. One listing mentions laundry which is not available, luckily laundromats are nearby. The location was great, minutes from Dollywood and walkable to a fun mountain coaster. Everything we could need was only minutes away. Outdoors was setup perfect for meals and had a fantastic hot tub and fire pit area. Our train loving toddlers are still talking about sleeping in a caboose! Thank you for adding the magic to our family vacation!

Our stay on the train

The train was very cute and clean. The design was very creative and the train sounds made it feel like you were on a train. The only improvements I would suggest is the ants were getting bad during our stay. They were on the bunk beds and my daughter had to sleep on the bottom with me, after we got the ants out of my bed. They were on the wall in the master bedroom and bathroom. The shower floor was really pretty but the rocks do hurt your feet when you take a shower. I would bring a shower mat when staying their. The location was on a busy road but I loved how close it was to town and all the attractions. The hot tub was nice but there is not much privacy because there are apartments right beside the train. The stay would have been a 9 out of 10 if they did not have ants biting us throughout the night.

Love

The place is so quirky and fun. However there is an ant problem. Also no privacy as is right on the road. The other issue is that we were senior citizens and that was the most uncomfortable furniture I’ve ever seen we left a day early because of our arthritis. Thank you for having us

Cute in theory

The train setup is very cute, however comfort is not high priority. Our first night there ants invaded the kitchen. I tried to call someone but the recording said messaging was just as effective. I was told someone would be coming to check it out, we never saw anyone. We bought bug spray and sprayed inside and out. The furniture in the living area is not comfortable for relaxing. The stone shower floor was so painful we had to purchase a thick shower mat. It is a good location for local attractions.

Our kids are 2,4 and 5 and are obsessed with trains! This stay was amazing! Plenty of room for this age (s) and a perfect little room. Super close to EVERYTHING! Although off a main road the evenings were super quiet! Definitely coming back!

We had a great stay! It’s whimsical for sure. A little close to the road but don’t let that detour you! The only thing I will say is if I had read my email better we could have saved on attraction tickets as the amenities are great!

All Aboard for Weekend FUN!!

Love the whole entire concept! My grandson who loves trains was in HEAVEN! All the little details in the train and outside were absolutely perfect!!! If there was a negative it would be that the back area isn’t completely fenced in. When you have small kids close to that busy road it’s dangerous BUT the train, the cleanliness, accessibility and easy check in/out was on point!!! WAY TO GO!!!

Mixed Reviews

Upon entering, the Decor of the cabin is very impressive. The train decor was a big selling point on us renting this cabin over others. But a few things made it not as much fun. For one, the biggest issue, that made me dock one whole star… upon arrival, the locks on the back door that goes from the Master bedroom to the hot tub area were broken so that they didn’t completely lock. The break is at the top of the door frame, where the upper locks ‘should’ lock… but the wood is broken in such a way that they can still be pushed open even when they are supposed to be locked. The deadbolts near the handles do not prevent this from happening. So it isn’t secure. A determined child could push these doors open and get to the hot tub area. This could be a safety issue, if a child got out unattended. And a safety issue in that outsiders could probably just as easily enter at this point. So don’t keep any valuables in here when not here. Next the Master bedroom… must be Mama Bear’s bed because it was just WAY too soft. I felt like I was sinking into it… that is considering if one could even climb onto it for being so tall off the ground. I am only 5’4”, and my husband 5’7”. It was a challenge. If you are gonna have a bed that high, there should at least be a step stool. But getting back to the softness… I don’t recommend it for anyone with back problems or Orthopedic issues. There were other smaller issues, but not enough room to write it here.

Unique Cabin

Love the cabin and it's uniqueness. Well done making it a great place to stay. Bed was very comfortable, hot tub was great and loved the opportunity to fix some light meals. Had a great fire in the firepit and love the setup for fire, grilling and eating outside. Issues: Large black ants dead on rugs and floors. Swept up and then more, so still coming in and then dying. Some live ones also crawling around mostly in master bedroom and living room. Need a step stool to get in bed...very high and I'm 5' 9 ". Outside lights not working. 4 strands and only one strand works. Master bedroom door does not work well. Overall a great place to stay for a few days.

Climb Aboard

Great experience as our eldest child loves all things TRAINS. It was extremely comfortable and was exactly as described. It was a little disconcerting to walk in and find the master patio door open and then discover that the majority of the locks inside do not seem very secure. The only other complaint we had was the large quantity of ants that we noted on arrival inside the caboose and throughout our stay. They didn’t bite anybody but we had to keep all of our belongings locked up in order to prevent the ants from climbing through them; this wouldn’t have been as irritating except someone in our family is deathly allergic to them and requires an epipen in case of bites
