Smaller scale delivers a more personal touch

We were made welcome from the start by all the staff. Location was great and we were happy not to be lost in one of the massive resort style hotels around us. Good value for Waikiki too. If you want your hotel to have lots of shops/food outlets/activity centres etc, then this one is not for you. But if you are after a nice room that is not along some endless corridor, staff who recognise you, a simple breakfast, beach towels/mats and all just 2 minutes walk from the beach, you should stay here.

Complementary champagne

My husband and I travelled to Waikiki to celebrate our anniversary. Once we arrived to our room, the hotel sent champagne and chocolates. What a wonderful treat for our anniversary. I would recommend this boutique hotel for anyone looking for a quality experience at a good price.

Great Value and Service

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: breakfast starts at 7:00 which maybe too late
We were greeted with pineapple juice and warm towels. The staff was warm and welcoming, willing to answer questions. They also offer complementary beach mats, beach chairs, towels, and boogie boards. The hotel is conveniently located - about 1/2 block from beach. It was recently renovated and offers a very nice complementary breakfast. We found the bed extremely comfortable. This hotel is a great value in a very expensive city.

Very welcoming, nice room, terrific staff!!

I would recommend this hotel. Great value. Close to beach, restaurants, and light shopping. Maybe a little stronger lighting would help, but worth staying. Staff made it extra special.

This hotel was a soothing oasis.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, Free breakfast, wonderful staff
Cons: no nice view of outside
For the most part this hotel was a nice respite from the bustle of Waikiki. The breakfast area was small to accommodate the number of people who were present, however it was not unbearable. The hotel is close to the beach and great for proximity to shopping and swimming, but there were no lovely views of the beach or mountain rather it was the top of the buildings next door. The staff was so nice and went above and beyond to be helpful. They were friendly and patient.

Fantastic 2 week stay in Honolulu

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Renew for 2 weeks and enjoyed the entire time we were here. The staff was incredibly friendly and were nice enough to send a fruit plate and card for my birthday. The manager who brought it to our room actually sang to me too, which was very nice of him to do (I would have been far too embarrassed). The card that they sent was handwritten and it thanked me for staying at their hotel for the occasion. It was definitely an unexpected treat. We found the location of the hotel to be a great fit for us, as it was not directly in the middle of the craziness of the Waikiki area. We noticed a few times that there were some loud cars and trucks in the alley behind the hotel, but it didn't bother us at all. I'd suggest earplugs for anyone who is very sensitive to noise in the morning if you are trying to sleep in at all. The beach was a very short walk, which wasn't difficult at all even while carrying the free beach equipment that Hotel Renew allows you to check out. We had very few minor complaints, which included the dim lighting in the room that made it hard to see at night while dressing to go out, along with the rather small size of the refrigerator. We found the pillows on the bed to be a little too thin also, so they were not comfortable for our preferences. The breakfast buffet was nice to have in the morning, but it would have been nice to have some cooked foods too, like eggs for example. Overall we had an excellent stay at Hotel Renew and would definitely return again in the future.

Excellent staff and a great hotel.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
This was my second stay at Hotel Renew and both have been extremely positive experiences. Even though it isn't on the beach it is just a half block away and has a great location. The bedding is very comfortable. We never came or went without being greeted with a smile from the front desk. And when we forgot our jackets in the closet the housekeeping department shipped them to us. I would and have recommended this hotel. My brother who lives in waikiki is planning on recommending Hotel Renew to future visitors. The only drawback for us was on 1 of the 4 nights there was some noise from the alley below our room but when we shut the bathroom door (which had a window that overlooked the alley) that took care of it. We enjoyed the free breakfast in the lobby and my husband really got a kick out of the men's restroom in the lobby...guys you have to check it out. PS Tiki's bar and restaraunt next door has great food, appetizers, wonderful live music in the evenings and they had friendly staff too.

This hotel has the spirit of Aloha!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, close shopping, close to te beach
I LOVED Hotel Renew!! I picked this hotel because When reading all the reviews,Hotel Renew had all the best reviews And everyone only had good things to say about it and I see why!! When you first get it your hot and tired from traveling and the first thing you get as you are checking in is a nice cold towel ( as it is always quite warm even in December) and a glass of pineapple juice! The room was nice-not huge but perfect with a double bed(I was traveling alone you can also upgrade to a king at a very reasonable price per night) but it was incredibly comfortable! A nice desk to sit at and use your laptop utilizing their free wifi, or if you didn't being a laptop, no worries as they say in Hawaii with your ID you could sit in the lobby and borrow theirs. But back to having a laptop should you go out and want to secure it there is also a safe in the room that was big enough to hold your laptop with room for more. There is a nice flat screen tv on the wall and a nice bathroom. Also my balcony had a view of the ocean and should you actually be in your room while te sum is up,there is a glass door to the balcony and a nice large window for plenty of that Hawaiian sunshine! There are not a lot of amenities other than what I mentioned but that is not why I traveled all the way to Hawaii, to stay in a hotel and swim or use a work out room-I wanted to go to the beach and hike and see Hawaii!! Also should you want to go to the beach-which was just a short walk away, no worries they had towels for you to use as well as beach chairs, mats and body boards all complementary. You are also within walking distance of the Honolulu Zoo (I love animals) and the aquarium( so you can see the names of all those fish you will see snorkeling either in Waikiki or Haunama bay which I recommend doing!!) And for all the women you are in walking distance of all the shopping in Waikiki!! But if you're like me and love to shop bring an extra suitcase because trust me you will need it!! The parking is Valet only but at $25 a day not bad for Honolulu and saved you the trouble of having find a metered space and figure out when you could or couldn't park there. U was there around Pearl Harbor day so several roads had no parking because of the parade that came through Honolulu. Similarly there was a marathon and certain hours the day before and day of you couldn't park on several streets leaving you tring to find somewhere to park. So it was nice not to have to worry about it. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! I spoke mostly with Daniel,Adam and Paul -And they gave me advice on places to hike that were a little harder which is what I wanted besides the real touristy hikes and what hiking places were better and that I should try. Also since I had a rental car an was figuring out how to get places on my own ( I figured it was an island-I can only get sooo lost ) they would google directions for me and print them out so I had them handy instead of trying to remember if they said it was a left or a right past the third palm tree. In the mornings there also was a complimentary continential breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, muffins, croissants and toast. Also there was coffee and fresh pineapple juice! They have the true spiri of Aloha at their hotel and I was glad I picked it. I went out and saw and experienced everything I could during the day and felt right at home and welcomed home at night.

Warm, trendy hotel perfect for couples.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Hotel Renew is located just a short walk to the sands of Waikiki Beach and all the shopping nearby. The hotel has a chic, ultra modern feel and is perfect for couples. With no pool or room service, I would not reccomend for families with young to teenage children. We had our 7mo old, so this was no issue. The staff was very accomodating and the breakfast and evening reception was an added bonus.

Very pleasant stay

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: no swimming pool, no outside seating area, no exercise room
The hotel is located at the far end of Waikiki, so it was more quiet compared to the other hotels in the busy area. Yet the beach was only a block away, and many restaurants and shops were within a walking distance. The stuff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nicely decorated, modern and clean. The only disadvantages were a lack of a swimming pool and outside sitting area and the small breakfast area (sometimes people couldn't find a table). Other than that, we really enjoyed staying there and would come back to this hotel again.
