What was really unique was being awoken at 5:30 AM by someone trying to enter our room. And they had a key that worked so they were able to open the door! Luckily we had locked the latch for extra security so the door only opened so far. Our floor also smelled heavily of marijuana. I would spend the extra money and stay down the road.

I would not recommend this. Our room was not ready at check in. We needed to get to a wedding venue and wanted to freshen up, they asked me for my conf #; had to go out to the car to get it. Gave me a different room, didn’t realize till after we came back that we had two full size beds. Could not sleep with my husband. We were supposed to have room 133, but they could get 175 for that, not what was confirmed by you.

Exremely poor had to move room at 11:00pm due to a dog barking. Rooms were large but spartan and pillow cases dirty. If i could have drove home I woyld have. Disgusted

Besides the strong odor of disinfectant and stained box spring covers, the hotel was fine. (Also, windows do not open and are permanently locked) Not the greatest neighborhood, but a cheap hotel for Newport in the summer for a night was acceptable.

I was in a non smoking room next to a room where the guests were smoking marijuana, which made the whole hallway smell like pot and gave me a major headache. No coffee maker or clock in the room. Guests were yelling at each other in the hotel hallway late at night. People were screaming and fighting outside of the hotel at midnight and later (the last time I looked at my watch it was 1:30am). There were popping sounds like either gunshots (or dare I be optimistic and say faulty fireworks?) - I didn't dare look out the window.

The linen/bed sheets were like pumice stones, nearly threadbare and very rough against your skin. The note card on the bed from the housekeeper ironically said that the beds would be made up daily. One bed was made up but the second bed was left unmade when I got back to my room.
