Book a hotel near Monte Vista and Alamosa National Wildlife Refuges, Monte Vista

"This hotel room was one of the dirtiest rooms I’ve ever been in. I’m not expecting much from a best western, but I do expect basic cleanliness. The manager was unwilling to refund me, or even go look at the room with me. Her level of cleanliness is so low , and unwilling to take accountability for her property. So much filth. I wouldn’t stay here, ever. "

"Ample parking, clean rooms and very comfortable beds made out stay enjoyable. All the staff were very friendly. To top that off, they served a full breakfast with eggs, sausage and waffles along with the lighter traditional items. "

"The check in process needs to be updated on her site. First off, the property has 2 entrances, A and B, but she doesn't tell you which you are in. Second, there is NO lock box on the door, just a regular key. Third, there was NO key in the porch lock box, and we couldn't reach the owner to access the house. We called VRBO to ask for help and they couldn't reach the owner either. VRBO said they would refund our money, but we had a group of 6 and it was evening and everything was booked.... so very frustrating. Finally the owner came back and we were able to get into the house.Also, the barn door for one of the bedrooms upstairs fell off it's rails and nearly landed on our 81 yr old friend. VEry scary; however, the owners friends was very nice and took away heavy door and hung a curtain up so she had some privacy. Probably wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, although it was clean."

"The hotel was nice and clean, staff was amazing, but the elevator was down and they put us (a family of 4) on the top floor. Then our room was out of many of the amenities like shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was great!"

"Hotel was okay. Breakfast was good with a lot to choose from. Room was roomy and clean. Bathroom was small with just a shower. Staff was nice overall. No complaints."
