This was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever experienced, and it ruined a rare family trip to Miami. We paid nearly $1,600 for three nights (~$500/night) at a hotel advertised as 8.4-rated and four-star, yet it does not meet even basic hospitality standards. The rating feels misleading. We booked properly for three guests, yet the room had insufficient bedding and only two towels. We did not add an extra person. When we asked for a third towel, we were told none were available because they were being washed and the hotel was fully booked. That is unacceptable at this price point. A hotel’s failure to stock enough towels is not the guest’s responsibility. At night, there was only one attendant for all four buildings, with no management on site. The attendant (George) explained he could not deliver bedding because he was the only person working the entire property. That alone disqualifies this hotel from any four-star claim. Additional issues: Coffee maker in room, no cups; told to get cups from the cafeteria Dismissive response to cleanliness concerns: “If you want, we can clean your couch” When asking for solutions, we were told: “The only option I have is downgrade you.” This stay tainted our entire vacation. Given the cost and the complete failure to meet advertised standards, we believe a full reimbursement is the minimum warranted, if not more. We strongly caution others against trusting this hotel’s rating.

Room was fine. Hallway carpets were stained. Elevator was out of service. We asked for early check-in explaining that I had just finished chemo. The person at the desk made no special effort, ie did not offer to have housekeeping clean a room of our type right away, just said we will call you when your room has been cleaned. Then no one ever called. We finally went back to the desk after almost 2 hours and the room was ready but no one had called us. Not great customer service.
