The staff are very helpful and the room came fully equipped with proper coffee and a nice big bed. However, I could barely sleep due to loud noises coming from the air conditioner every 15 mins or so. I even tried turning the AC off but the noise continued. The pillows were uncomfortable and linens had yellow stains on them.

Air con/heating was broken so room was freezing. When I reported it I was informed at reception it was affecting the whole hotel so moving rooms wouldn’t help. It hasn’t been fixed since I last stayed there 3 days ago. I ended up sleeping in my clothes. To add to this, the window in my room was open when I arrived, making the room even colder. I realised after 10mins that the window had been left open by staff as there was an unpleasant smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. I have stayed 10+ times at this hotel and have been happy with my stay. But these last 2 times the heating and drain issues have been extremely disappointing. The hotel is not currently fit to stay in with no working heating and the hotel should make people aware if the heating issue is still not fixed before they book.

The reception staff were nice and very helpful. I booked in order to attend Christmas services at the Temple Church so my unexpected view of the church from my window (room 221) was a real plus. The price was reasonable and I realise of course that this is not a luxury place; I understand, too, that they only service the room on alternate days. That's fine - but only once in my five-night stay? I expected better. The room had everything needed - comfortable bed, excellent bathroom ... but I felt the lay-out could have been better thought through, even though the room is small. Main problem? I read a lot and the lighting just wasn't good for that. Also - no bedside power or USB point. All that said, it's a very good place to base yourself, with lots of public transport options nearby - and plenty of interesting places to visit (not least the famous and beautiful Temple Church). My room (at the back of the hotel) was very quiet indeed - though I was woken on Christmas morning by the merry shouts of the choristers arriving for their pre-service practice! The breakfast (extra cost) is OK but not wildly exciting. Slightly cheaper if you book it on arrival at Reception rather than paying in the (small) restaurant/eating area. In short, it's not perfect, but I would (I shall!) stay here again.

Room was internal so no windows , but has it was winter didn’t matter . Room was small but did the job , the only issue was an issue with the kettle where the plug was damaged. I did report it but nothing was done, on departure I mentioned this to Philip who can’t be more helpful sorted out breakfast coffee anything I wanted . Even for this issue I would go back
