Beds were uncomfortable which was unfortunate. Pool was cold. Hot tub was very hot and chlorine burned our eyes so couldn't stay in it too long. Lounge very small. Rooms were very clean and nicely set up. Gas fireplace nice touch.

We stayed three nights in the Royal Canadian Lodge with our young family while on a ski vacation at Sunshine. The staff at the lodge was fantastic and very attentive to our needs. The pool was small and didn't have a waterslide but our children enjoyed it after a hard day of skiing nonetheless. We booked a superior two queen bed and fireplace room on the main floor at the front of the property that had been freshly renovated with new paint, flooring, lighting and millwork. The room was very nicely decorated and the bathroom/shower was as nice as in any hotel I have ever stayed. For the value, you won't find a better property. We will seek this property out again in the future.

Overall, my stay was pretty good. The dining options were solid but nothing special. Everyone I interacted with was nice. When I needed bandaids, they provided them for me. However, my first night there, I thought I heard something rustling through my (closed) food. Brushed it off. But my last night there, I got back to my hotel and noticed two snack bags empty in the floor with holes chewed in them. When I brought this to their attention, they said they’d check the lock to make sure no one was in the room. I argued that it wasn’t a “someone” so they finally agreed to look for signs of an animal. The maintenance guy who “checked” said there were no holes in the walls and asked if I was sure food was in the bags. 30 minutes later, I spotted the rodent scurry across my room. They gave me a new room and only comped my breakfast the next morning. I wouldn’t have even mentioned this has the front desk person and maintenance guys were so dismissive of my concern. I’m not an idiot but I was treated like one.

Parts of the property were older, but it was cozy and clean. The bathroom in the room was really large. I liked the separation of the sink and the toilet/shower. Only off part to layout was having the closet in the bathroom. But it was quite comfortable in the room.

Overall very happy with the property and staff. Hotel is looking a bit dated but very clean and in good repair. Staff was exceptional, in particular, Alina at the front desk. Other staff were also excellent, dining room waiter, office staff always smiling and waving. Housekeeping did a wonderful job in our room. Please thank all the staff for us. they make the stay worthwhile.
