Def check out the rooftop view on the 17th floor. Byron was excellent for guest services on 2 occasions. Was able to check in early and walk 2 blocks to the lake. Breakfast was free but meh. Go 2 blocks West to the 3rd Coast Cafe, was reasonably priced and the food was very good.

Would not recommend. There was a mandatory additional fee of a property package deal due when checking in. This was on top of the hotel fees. I was not made aware of this prior and was forced to pay an additional $250 for my stay. I also have not received my security deposit back. Was not worth the price. The rooms also have a strange smell.

We reserved a double room for one night to go to a concert at Soldier Field. We booked a month out but most options (aside from this) were taken. Room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The view from our windows were also nice, but private. Only caveat to staying here is the required resort fee for $89.95, which I felt was not worth the extra money. You get two drinks (under a $16 value) at the bar and a pretty mediocre breakfast the next morning. Not bad but not worth the price tag. They also require a $125.00 security deposit for the room, which is fine, but just a heads up for anyone booking. Good for convenience, but wouldn’t book again if I didn’t have to.

When i booked this hotel is was a Hyatt property. It has recently been sold to The Ambassador collection and the transfer of reservations to new owners was horrific. My nephew, his partner and their 8m old son spent 6 hours in the lobby sorting out their room. The Ambassador charged them $1500 for the room - luckly Capitol one travel picked up the difference btw the quoted price and the "new" price from the Ambassador. He was not the only one, there were people sleeping in the lobby - i can only assume they lost their rooms. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and unsympathetic to the guest. The hotel itself urgently needs an upgrade, the beds were lumpy and the towels were thread bare. We asked for glasses at the bar and were told no - they didnt have enough to spare. DO NOT STAY there. I will say the location of the hotel is in a beautiful neighborhood and the cleaning staff were amazing - all smiles and very helpful Hopefull they will find new jobs. I can imagine they are being treated very well.

The lobby is gorgeous! Spacious room. No coffee makers but they give water. They charge a mandatory fee of 89.00 per day as a resort fee. This includes a free breakfast Buffett. I feel like this is just a reason to charge you a fee.

I stayed here recently and was absolutely shocked to be hit with a $129 “guest fee” at check-in. What did that cover? Six bottles of water and two drink tickets. That’s it. No actual services, no amenities that justify that kind of charge—just water I didn’t ask for and drink tickets I didn’t use. It felt like a blatant money grab. This “fee” wasn’t made clear during booking, and the staff brushed it off like it was normal. It’s not. I’ve stayed at nicer hotels with actual amenities for less. Save yourself the frustration—and your money. There are better places that don’t try to disguise overpriced water as a luxury perk.

Expect extra charges

If you book from hotels.com you will pay a resort fee and a third party reservation fee. They give you some things in addition, but they are trying to draw you in with low prices and then charge you extra when you arrive. Very annoying. Staff was nice and the breakfast was pretty tasty. Pretty hotel. Annoying ownership.

Many reviews talked about the add on fees. I was aware of them because hotels. Com does a great job listing them. Check in was absolutely miserable. No one would acknowledge the discrepancy in charges. With this total lack of caring, would not recommend this hotel.
