Disliked: Cleanliness
The home itself was impressive in size and location, my overall experience was overshadowed by a cleanliness issues. The cabin is spacious, centrally located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, close to grocery stores, and offers beautiful views.Unfortunately, I’m giving this property 3 out of 5 stars due to the lack of cleanliness upon arrival. I understand that rental properties can be challenging to maintain, but the condition of this cabin fell below my expectations. It was disappointing to arrive ready to enjoy our stay only to find the property had not been properly cleaned.I contacted the host immediately, and they were responsive and offered to send someone to address the issues. At that point, however, it would have been an inconvenience for my family. I ended up sweeping and cleaning two bathrooms on the middle and top floors myself. In one of those bathrooms, there was a bar of soap left behind and areas that clearly had not been cleaned after the previous guests. The bottom floor bedroom couldn’t be used due to a strong, unpleasant odor. While I understand ladybugs/bugsvcan be common in the area, they were present throughout the cabin, and in some areas it was clear they had been there for quite some time. Additionally, the rollout bed on the top floor had dirty sheets and no comforter, forcing us to take bedding from a downstairs bedroom. Although the host was understanding and communicative when I shared photos, and I would be hesitant to stay here again.
