We stayed one night at Clontarf Castle Hotel at the end of our trip and it was a great way to wrap things up. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, which we really appreciated after a busy travel schedule. Dinner in the Knight’s Bar was excellent. The food was great, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the Guinness was poured just right. Reception staff were also very welcoming and helpful, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The hotel is conveniently located close to Dublin Airport and the free parking was a big bonus. The castle setting adds a unique charm, and everything felt relaxed yet refined. The only small issue we noticed was with the washrooms outside the Knight’s Bar. The women’s washroom was out of toilet paper, and the men’s had quite a bit of paper on the floor with water on the counter. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it stood out compared to the otherwise high standards throughout the hotel. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would gladly return. Clontarf Castle offers comfort, great food, friendly service, and a touch of character you won’t find in a typical hotel near the airport.

, the service in the bar was very slow , so you wait 15 minutes to be served facing a large coffee machine to be told no coffee available !!! The room had no bath towels , reception said you should have phoned down we would have brought some , that doesn’t help when you are standing dripping having got out of the shower to discover no towels

Great stay outside Dublin

Clontarf Castle made for a lovely first night in Ireland. Only 20-minutes from the airport, it had a heck of a lot more charm and character than an airport hotel! And the food in the bar was good too.

Hotel is extremely impressive and the exterior and lobby definitely wow. However, we were quite disappointed with our room. The bed was very uncomfortable, and there was quite a height difference between the two mattresses. We inquired at the front desk if they could possibly put a mattress topper on, so they actually moved us to another room. As we were only staying for two nights, it was not exactly convenient to move our things. The second room was fine with regards to the bed. Something that did Catch my attention when we went back to the first room to get our luggage, was that the bed had been made up for the next guest. I pressed on both mattresses and could see that they were in the same condition as before. I also noticed in the second room that there was some soap caked onto the holder in the shower. Breakfast was disappointing with a hotel of this caliber. There was no table service offered, and the buffet items were dried out. I am from Dublin and had a group of family members and friends joining us for drinks on the Friday night. We ended up out in the lobby, 25 of us. The manager had told us that she had a dedicated server for that area. The young man made an appearance a couple of times throughout the night, which resulted in everyone just going back into the bar to get their drinks. My cousin's daughter, who is a young teenager, had gotten some chips at the bar and was told that she could not bring them out to the lobby, as there is no food allowed out there.

Amazing place - but training not finished

Great one night stay - convenient for the airport next day - fine dining was good but training waiting staff on the job detracts from it - similar experience at breakfast where tea/coffee was delivered to the wrong table

Enchanting stay

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Clontarf Castle Hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality. The castle's historic charm combined with modern comforts created a unique and enchanting atmosphere. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight was undoubtedly the stunning castle architecture, which we enjoyed exploring during our downtime. Dining at the hotel was a treat! The restaurant offered a diverse menu with delicious dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. We especially loved the breakfast selection—perfect to start our day. Located just a short distance from Dublin city center, Clontarf Castle Hotel is the perfect getaway for those looking to experience a bit of history while enjoying modern luxury. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Dublin.

Beautiful property close to lovely restraunts and walking along the water. The castle had lovely details while integrating a modern hotel. Food was very good at the Knights Bar. Bed was comfy and great location to access the airport. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Absolutely wonderful.

It's a beautiful property, well away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin (good or bad thing depending on your point of view). Not sure if it was because this was the one Irish hotel we booked via Expedia, but I did miss the small touches (like actual coffee in your room, a bathroom) at every other hotel we stayed at in Ireland at the Clontarf.
