Nice hotel, a little further from the City Centre and sites like Grafton Street, than we thought, a good 15 minute walk. To get to the City Centre we also had to walk thru a slightly dodgy area. That said it was a nice, safe, clean hotel with a great staff. Still recommend

This hotel is actually across the bridge from Hueston Station. It looks long on Maps, but it’s assuming a car instead of walking. Hotel has a great breakfast buffet and a good pub for dinner. Live music/pub only a 5-15 minute walk from the hotel. Took a cab to Temple Bar as it was a little further away. Bathtub was deep. Room was clean. Public areas well kept. Loved our trip!

The Ashling was a great place to stay. We can't say enough about how great the overall experience was. The location along the Liffy River provides a pathway to all the sites of Dublin. I would highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness, location, and staff.

This was my 1st visit to Ireland, my first visit out of USA. Taxi service from the airport was easy access and convenient. I arrived 4 hours early. Baggage storage was available at the Ashling Hotel. The weather was chilly and beautiful so I walked around came back to the Iveagh Bar at the Ashling Hotel had tea and waited until 3pm check-in time. Just about everywhere I wanted to go in Dublin was walking distance (I like to walk), or bus, or the luas- the rapid transportation trolley. Both go right by the Hotel. The Ashling Hotel food was excellent from breakfast, late tea, early dinner, and when I ate in town it was delicious. From fish and chips, pizza, cakes, burgers, different salads, soups and stews, and on and on. You can get coffee and tea just about everywhere, along with a lager-beer. The tap water is delicious, the only reason to buy bottled water is for a trip. The Ashling has maps at the front desk, a kiosk to book daily trips is also available. I made use of this for a trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Giants Causeway. Both great trips, with comfortable transportation by Darby O'Gills. I walked to Jameson's distillery, Guinness ( you are looking at it when you walk out the Ashling Hotel door), Kilmainham Goal, Irish Wiskey Museum, Trinity College ( to see the book of Kells), National Museum of Ireland ( it's free ), and a few churches. You can shop and eat for days. Flowers were in bloom all over. I would stay at the Ashling Hotel next visit.

Nice place close to Guinness factory, Temple Bar,

Nice also to be by train and bus station. We took an easy tram and train ride to Howth. Also you could take a bus to and from the airport.

Staff gave us inaccurate information about buses, but I would stay there again no worries due to all other aspects.

Classy Hotel close to attractions

Pros: Location, upscale, quiet. Housekeeping was very discreet.
Cons: Eating the buffet in the restaurant, we had no idea what the breakfast cost until we were checking out. We knew it was not free, but no prices posted.
Location: Streetcar is right there. Can walk also. Besides regular tourist places, we visited closeby pubs Eamon Rae's for NYE and Ryan's as well.
We very much enjoyed this hotel. Our stay there was for 9 nights. It is on par with a Westin in the US. Lobby and restaurants felt very upscale. The lobby has two computers with printers which made booking excursions and printing vouchers very easy. Free wi-fi and bottled water in the room. Room itself was a Superior King and very nicely equipped. Lots of shelf space on the desk and in the bathroom so we never felt like our 'stuff' was laying all over the place. Light switches on the headboard which made it very nice come bedtime. The only oddball thing was the glass shower door which was a half door . It was very modern but not very practical. Bathroom floor was always wet after a shower but we always had plenty of large fresh towels so it was not a real issue. Beds were comfortable and bedding was very nice. It is right on the streetcar line and we were on the street side so you could hear it running here and there but it was more like white noise than anything else. They actually provide earplugs which my husband used with his CPAP. I did not need them. Security was subtle but in effect. A key is needed to enter floors and after hours, a doorman had to let you into the lobby. We are able to walk just about anywhere if you are a walker. We also did the hop on hop off bus tour (green) and bought a 7 day luas pass and rode the streetcar once we got our bearings. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.
