Family vaca
Great location, short walk to beach (7 min). You can see a tiny sliver of ocean from 3rd floor deck! The house worked well for our extended family and dog. The house does show some wear and tear (carpet on steps with stains, couches with some stains, shower doors easily off track). Overall a good house. We enjoyed our trip.

Family Getaway
We have 6 adult children that are beginning to get a bit more difficult to get together at the same time due to a few starting their own families and others in school. This was a fantastic week to have everyone under the same roof and to enjoy each other in a beautiful home and setting.

Roomy and accommodating with some opportunities
Probably one of the nicest houses I’ve stayed in but it needs to be clean thoroughly from top to bottom, and repairs made to doors and some of the furniture. What was good: One of the best kitchens in terms of implements and items I have ever had the pleasure to rent. They had everything and lots of it.Short walk to the beach in either direction. Great set up for kids and adults to have private time. It had toilet paper dish soap hand soap laundry soap, I love when there’s some accommodation for that. Great movie selection in book selection. Great heating and cooling system. What it needs: You can tell when it’s heyday this house was 1st class, tasteful and elegant. But some of the furniture outside needs to be thrown away as two doors needing to be corrected water damage fixed and just an overall deep clean. For example there was a 3 foot long spiderweb hanging off the ceiling too high for anyone to get. Needs better beds 100% the bunkbeds are falling apart and the mattresses are cheap. The dining room chairs have nails poking out of them in several of them. There’s no broom, or no way to stop at the sinks in the kitchen. The jetted tub in the master bath is not working and has not been according to the other reviews in sometime. The real test is to ask would I stay in this house again, and I would without a thought. Although it does feel somewhat rundown,It’s a beautiful house it’s a great location if you don’t mind no privacy because you’re literally looking in the house is next to you on all sides. But I really did enjoy the set up in my family was able to have a much-needed vacation where the good far outweighed the bad. Unless you’re bougie and you want pristine perfection this house should meet your needs and exceed them.I would just suggest bringing some padded mattress covers because the beds really are uncomfortable.

Great location very quiet
Place all together is really nice and super close to the beach. I would suggest bringing your own towels and some extra blankets/pillows. Also, the couches in the main living area are pretty weathered and have a lot of stains. Outside of those small things the place is great and def worth the price.

Nice stay in corrolla
The house and access to the beach were accurate in description. Beds were just ok. Parking is limited to 3 cars without blocking. We enjoyed the stay.

Corolla
The house was in a good location. The pool was small but was perfect for our family. The floor plan of the house was good. The cleanliness of the house was poor. Spider webs everywhere. All furniture not dusted. Sofa in family room dirty. Mold was in one of the vents in the bedroom. We had to reclean the house once we arrived. Carpets were not in good shape. Dishwasher rusty. Bugs and spiders everywhere on the outside. Unsure when the house was powerwashed. Landscaping not maintained. Would come back to Corolla but not rent this house.

Very nice house on the quiet end of the island
The house was everything advertised and very comfortable for our group of 6 adults/college age kids. Beach access required a 5 minute walk but was not difficult for our crew. Lots of good restaurants and other activities nearby but outside of the heavy traffic areas further south on the island. Great deck and pool/hottub area. Only complaint is the very early checkout time (10am) through the property manager.

Corolla rental in Villages at Ocean Hill
This house was nicely furnished with big tvs and nice furniture at the pool. But there were ants in the kitchen and the charcoal grill was not that great.

Beautiful home. Great lighthouse and sunset views.. Hike to the beach
We were booked for a home in Rodanthe, but after the bizarre power outage, we had to hurry and book a new home. Jewel of the deep was available and we happily booked a day and a half before a vacation began. The house was absolutely beautiful. Plenty of room for three large families to all have our space. The fully stocked kitchen and spacious family room was perfect. The west views of the sunset and the lighthouse were spectacular. And the easterly views of the ocean were minimal, but there nonetheless. The beach access is quite a hike however. Especially when you have little kids with all of their stuff. We ended up packing up the pick up truck with all of our guests, toys and coolers, and driving to the larger beach access for the community. that area was great. That is where the community pool is, the restrooms, showers, the lifeguard, and that beach access was a wooden walkway, making the hike a bit easier. We could have walked to the other beach access, however the beach path was very long, narrow and Deep sand. So even with a beach wagon, it was very tedious getting there. Taking the car was a much easier route. All in all, I would probably not reserve this home again for the fact that I like to be closer to the ocean. But we did book in a hurry due to our situation with the power outage further south. If you do not plan on going to the beach with young kids every day, this would be a great home for you. We are beach bums, and we look forward to sitting on the beach for half the day. Running back-and-forth to the house to refill drinks or to grab lunch, is not very easy. One last thing. Although it is a great feature having both a pool and a hot tub. I must make mention that the pool is very, very, small. When my six-year-old would jump in on one side of the pool, I was constantly fearful he was going to hit his face on the concrete on the other side of the pool. And it was very difficult for the adults to enjoy the pool while the children were in it. Because there is absolutely no way of getting splashed or jumped on, because the pool is actually that small.
